JA: How was your vacation Floyd? "I have been moving around a lot and I needed a vacation. I went on tour with Oscar to promote his fight with Ricardo Mayorga. I been flying around the country, I went to Houston, and then I went to Chicago, from Chicago I went to Vegas. I stayed in Vegas for three days and then I flew out to Puerto Rico for 7 weeks. After Oscars fight I flew to Chicago to work the corner for another fighter of mine, from there I went to Michigan to visit my family. Now I am back home in Vegas. It has been a real long trip for me."
JA: Oscar De La Hoya came on record and said that if he was going to fight again that his next fight would be against Floyd Mayweather.
FMSR: If the money is right there will be a fight. It is not so much me wanting to fight my son; it’s about Floyd wanting to fight Oscar. I got good reasons to fight my son if he chooses that he wants to fight Oscar. I still have my personal reasons and their not going to be known unless the fight happens. It is not so much about the money but if the fight does happen I have to get paid for the fight, I need to be compensated well for this fight.
JA: So you have no problem training against your son?
FMSR: Let me tell you something, my son is a very disrespectful ******* and like I said whatever he has coming, so shall it be.
JA: If the fight does happen are you looking at it where you can teach your son a lesson?
FMSR: That is definitely one of the reasons and that will definitely come into play. He is disrespectful and if the fight does happen we are going to kick his ass. I am still big Floyd and he is still little Floyd.
JA: You said before that it would be an ugly situation…
FMSR: It still would be an ugly situation; this doesn’t make the situation any better. Whatever the reason that I do it for will still be an ugly situation. It wasn’t a good situation from the start; he is the one that instigated all this. Oscar didn’t start any of this and neither did I. He wants to fight Oscar because of the money and the fact that I train Oscar. He thinks that if he beats Oscar he will be beating Oscar and his daddy. Well your not beating your daddy if you beat my fighter and I am going to tell you this right now I won’t be beat. Floyd is doing this for all the wrong reasons, like I said before, money overcomes common sense.
JA: So you have changed your view on Oscar fighting your son?
FMSR: People have choices in life and this is America and people change their minds. There are something’s that people do like a spoiled disrespectful ******* like my son will call people to make changes.
JA: Do you feel that the fight is going to happen Floyd?
FMSR: I really don’t know and I am not really concerned if the fight happens or not, I am not barking up a tree for the fight to happen. If it happens so shall it be, if it doesn’t happen than so shall it be. I am not the type of person that if the fight doesn’t happen I am going to be insecure about it. Let me tell you something, my son has disrespected me and he will find out. He is stepping on the wrong toes and believe me he will find out.
JA: You sound aggravated at all this Floyd, he must have come after you pretty hard.
FMSR: He has been trying to get people to talk to me about himself fighting Oscar. He is talking to family members to see if they can talk to me so I can go and tell Oscar to fight my son, that is what he has been doing. If you want to tell me something, you have my number, call me up and tell me what is on your mind, you don’t have to go to family members and have them call me. For him to even think that his daddy is naпve. Believe this is a fight that he will regret.
JA: If the fight did happen, how would the fight turn out Floyd?
FMSR: I know how it would happen. [long pause]
JA: Tell us brother.
FMSR: Whose corner would I be in?
JA: Oscar’s corner.
FMSR: The rest is history.
JA: So you have the formula to beat Pretty Boy Floyd?
FMSR: I am the one that made the formula for Floyd and I am the one that can take the ingredients out of the formula if I wanted to. If the fight takes place and the way that my son has been disrespectful to me, let’s be done what needs to be done. My son thinks that he is buttering me up and he is tricking his daddy. He thinks that he is doing everything right to get this fight going but at the end of the day he wouldn’t want this fight, believe me. My son has no idea what he is going up against.
JA: You said that if the fight does happen you would have to be compensated well for the fight. What do you mean by that?
FMSR: I am not a mediocre trainer, I am a trainer that knows my business and knows my trade. I need to be compensated for my knowledge, there is so many things that I do well. When a fighter is with me, he wins.
JA: Was you not being compensated well in your other fights with Oscar?
FMSR: I was being compensated well in my other fights; I didn’t mean it like that. But this fight with my son is a whole different avenue. The fight with my son would break all records; this is the biggest fight out there right now. There has never been a father against son fight before, or brother against brother.
JA: So you have no problem training against son if you got compensated accordingly.
FMSR: I have no problem training against my son; he is the one that is going to have all the problems.
JA: Have you talked to Oscar about this fight?
FMSR: I haven’t talked to Oscar about this, if he wants to call me up and tell me they want to do it that’s fine, it’s what ever they want to do. One thing that I want to make perfectly clear, if there is anyone that is going to beat my son, its going to be me. If I do fight him I want to be compensated for it, I need to be compensated for the knowledge that I know because no one knows what I know.
JA: Do you think that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the front runner to fight Oscar De La Hoya next?
FMSR: Oscar has never ran from a challenge. Oscar has fought everyone their is to fight, I never known Oscar to run from anybody. I think that it would be a dangerous fight for my son if he decided to fight Oscar.
JA: Is there that you would like to say in closing Floyd?
FMSR: All I want my son to do is wake up! He is still in dream land because this fight is not going to be what he thinks it’s going to be, period. He is stepping up to far, whether he believes it or not, he will believe it when they put the smaller gloves on. He is not being hit by Chop Chop Corley or any of the other junior welterweights; he is going to be hit by a junior middleweight that hits like a middleweight. It’s a fight that shouldn’t take place, but if it does so shall it be. I am here to prove a point because my son is too disrespectful. He kicked me out of his house, I came up to train him and things didn’t go his way so he kicked me out of the house. He has done all kind of disrespectful things to me, I don’t care about his ass, he is just another ******* out there. If he gets knocked off he gets knocked off. I am sick and tired of playing games with him, I try to be a good father to him and a good grand dad, he won’t even let me see his kids. Let him live his life and let me live mine. If we are on the other side of the fence, so shall it be. I guess his ass will wake up when he gets knocked the **** out. Then when he wakes up reality will be right their waiting for him.
