De La Hoya To Announce Fight Soon

At the final press conference for Saturday's pay-per-view battle between Antonio Tarver and Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya told the New York Post that later this month he will announce his plans for a final career fight, to take place in September, and likely against the pound-for-pound king, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Recently, the final obstacle holding back the fight was no longer and obstacle. Floyd Mayweather Sr., had changed his mind about training Oscar De La Hoya to fight his son, if the money is right. [details]

Dear Lord, I must see this fight. It is a top goal in my life to have it on record that I was at this fight.

Please, Oh Lord of Hosts, make it happen.

I am hoping this fight comes off, I think it's a quality match up and will bring a lot of exposure to the fight and to Floyd.

One-sided? Since when is a fight between a small great fighter and a bigger great fighter 'one-sided'? This is not Jones-Ruiz material.

Floyd is a great fighter, but if your head was any farther up his ass, he'd be leaking crude oil.

I physically shake when i think of this fight. I get excited. If this fight goes on, it will be one of the defining fights of the decade. It is a throwback fight, comparable to when Leonard stepped in with Hearns and Duran and Hagler, or when Hearns fought Hagler. When Ali fought Frazier or Foreman.

Two greats, duking it out. I'm trembling.

This fight really does have HUGE potential, it will be the biggest fight since Lewis-Tyson, and possibly will break PPV records of non heavy fights......Its a dream for us fans I really hope it happens.

If it doesnt then Hatton-PBF is just as good for me.
