Comments Thread For: Eubank Jr: I Think I'll End George Groves Just Like I Did Yildirim!

Chris Eubank Jr. is in it to win it. That, it seems, was the message coming from the once-defeated IBO super-middleweight champion. Eubank Jr. booked his place in the World Boxing Super Series semi-finals with an emphatic, brutal performance against Avni Yildirim in Stuttgart, exclusively live on ITV Box Office, on Saturday.

Great result for Eubank Jr. Not seen the fight yet, but it's always impressive to go into an undefeated fighter's back yard and KO him.

I think his style could give Groves fits. He has a high work rate & solid chin, so if he can take Groves into the championship rounds he could drown him. Having said that, Groves will be the biggest & best opponent he's fought in the pros and hits accurately and hard, so it could go either way depending on who imposes their gameplan the best.

It's a mouthwatering fight imo. I'd lean ever so slightly towards Eubank Jr (not with much confidence) at this stage of both of their careers.

Groves at his best is at least one level better than Eubank.

I think so to. Will take longer cuz Groves is a tougher guy who'll box smarter, but I don't see him getting to the finals of the WBSS for sure & I think a stoppage is the most likely outcome.

Jr seems a bit on a roll and I'd favor him on Groves myself right now. Only, it won't be as easy as he believes.

On the other hand, if Groves managed to control his brawling instincts and decided to box smart, he could win.

In any case, let's not get too excited. Yildirim was poor, and even having said that he did hit Eubank with some good shots before being beheaded.

Groves has a very good jab, but can be a bit chinny....if Groves jabs, moves and land some strong shots early he should win.

Eubanks always relies on the intimidation factor, I don't think this will phase Groves too much.

Groves has been in with the best Froch, Jack and Degale.
