Definitely. For how much I & others used to dog on Klitschko he went out perfectly. When he was on the fence I was rooting hard on him calling it a career. Klitschko's last fight was some movie sh^t to retire on.

Cotto should just retire. This retirement fight bs for anyone virtually always is some goofy sh^t that serves no purpose to anyone except the guy who's retiring ego.

Shame. I was hoping to see Cotto-Lemieux or Cotto-GGG.

Cotto's resume is filled with an insane amount of top fighters, fighters that were top 10 ring rated in their divisions when Cotto fought them, not sanction rated, RING RATED. But not only did Cotto defeat them, he annihilated them. He's fought in 5 different weight classes, first Puerto Rican to win titles in 4 divisions, 6 time world champion, successfully defending his world titles 14 times in total. Lineal titles at 154 and 160. The WBC Middleweight lineal when Cotto won it could be traced back to Hopkins. He's fought the two best fighters of this era. That's not even including his amateur career. And I'm sure if I dig a little more I'd fined more HOF worthy achievements, like the most tickets sold at MSG in boxing history, including Mohammed Ali.

So yeah, a schit fight. But really before we start dropping names like Andrade, Charlo, Lara, I mean let's take a moment to look at their resumes, and ask why they have fought nobody, let alone each other? Obviously Cotto ending his career with a huge PPV fight would be a great way to end it, but at the end of the day, the only fight that made sense was unavailable: Cotto vs. Bradley. The other options, whether big or small, all suffered from the same problem, being a "stretch", Cotto vs. Bradley was the career closing fight that never was, for both Cotto and Bradley.
Great post I totally agree. Cotto has had 24 world title fights so I don't mind him not fighting a killer for his last fight. Boxing fans always complain no matter what. He's had a great career and it will be good to see him go out with a win.

LOL Andrelone coWard has to go down in history as the biggest financial disaster of an investment in Boxing history. He plays the whole God thing but how could he in good conscience accept millions more than he knew the entore event would make, then quit before he can help his investors recoup their losses? Zero respect for this steroid cheating coWard.
