I voted Canelo was more drained and hurt more by the 2 extra pounds he had to take off than Cotto was. When a world title is on the line no catchweights should be allowed or it isn't a true title fight at the proper traditional weight. If no title is on the line then the boxers can fight at any weight they both agree on and it's OK with me.

Which is more drained? Canelo at 152 or Cotto at 145?

I will mention the Pac/Cotto fight and remind everyone that this was the first time Pac had fought for a ww championship, whereas Floyd had fought twice at the lmw limit against champions, so the cw was dirty as hell.

I voted Cotto because I remember how painful the negotiations were for that fight. Cotto did not want the catch weight and was kicking and screaming the whole time. I remember Pac offering to pay the WBO sanctioning fees to try and get Cotto to take the fight. But then again every fighter that has fought Cotto says it’s like going to hell during negotiations so he could’ve been using the 2 lbs as leverage.

Only a fool would hand pics to suit their agenda, gullible bunch of fanboys. 2lb must mean more to a smaller fighter than a larger fighter, pure logic which fanboys don't have.
Even if the money could have been worked out, Cotto said the weight was a major issue.
For the 2009 bout he had agreed to go down to 145 pounds, two less than the welterweight limit, and said it took its toll. If he had taken the rematch at 150, it would mean dropping 4 pounds below the junior middleweight limit, which is where Cotto has fought his four bouts since his loss to Pacquiao.
"If he wants a big name and wants to fight the best, no catchweight," Cotto said of Pacquiao. "Making catchweights is easy for them. They make the other guy have trouble making weight and they take advantage of that. I wasn't going to do that again. I am 154 pounds. I am not going to fight at a catchweight and make myself weak."

Canelo. Especially when you consider Cotto not fighting past 155, while Canelo has fought at 164 and even had to drain weight just to make that. Canelo is a naturally bigger guy than Cotto and he was always struggling to make 154.

Both wins have * next to them but the Canelo one much more so.
If Floyd wanted to drain him...he would have slapped him with a rehydration clause.....that's how you drain somebody.
Canelo entered the ring fully rehydrated and ready to work.
It's funny.... he was drained...but he showed more stamina against Floyd.
Go figure.
