He clearly beat Cotto and gave Canelo a close fight. He hasn't been a contender since Lara beat his ass though. He remains a tough guy that can be used to test the mettle of green fighters. He did it with Charlo, he's doing it with Hurd, and I wouldn't be surprised if he did it with Lubin if Lubin beats the other Charlo.
