Comments Thread For: Arias: Jacobs Gets Way Too Much Credit for Surviving Against GGG

NEW YORK Luis Aris is willing to give Daniel Jacobs some credit for how he fought against Gennady Golovkin. The undefeated middleweight from Milwaukee just can't understand the abundance of rave reviews Jacobs has received for his performance in a close unanimous-decision loss to Golovkin. He dismissed the faction of fans and media that has argued Jacobs deserved a victory over Golovkin, who won their March 18 bout by slim margins at Madison Square Garden (115-112, 115-112, 114-113).

Jacobs went more toe-to-toe with GGG than Canelo and no one gives him credit for that lmao.

I wouldn't say Jacobs was running after the knockdown. GGG hit him with two good shots and then as Jacob was falling dug his knees into him. He still got back up and matched GGG for aggression in parts of the fight. In my opinion he was wise not to go and trade with Golovkin for large sections of that fight.

Jacobs fought more than Canelo "I fight in spurts" Alvarez...

GGG won both fights, but Jacobs was actually the close fight. Jacobs used his jab nicely and boxed well after that early KD.

If Arias tries to slug with Jacobs he will be asleep by the 7th. GGG didn't fight aggressively because Jacobs can crack. Guess he will find out soon.

I have to admit, this kid is growing on me! I think I just feel some type of way about Jacobs picking this kid instead of Charlo or Derevyanchenko. Careful what you ask for!
