    Roy Jones JR & steroids

First off I would like to say that RJJ is my favorite fighter ever. So im not some rjj hater.

anways, i know there are some controversy with roy on steroids. I was just watching RJJ vs Taver 2 when he got KTFO and he was pretty musclar. I then watch the glen johnson fight, and I can see he has slightly less muscle mass, most noticably in his back. Then i turn on Tarver-Jones 3 and RJJ back muscle are almost non-excistant. He didn't look lik ehe had much muscle at all.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but what do you think?

Probably some age affect in there...a little less willing to buckle down and train like he used too...

what are you talking about? rewatch the fights, because jones was in much better shape in the third tarver bout then he was against glen johnson. in the johnson fights his abs were barely visible, he was more cut as a heavyweight haha.

I dont know about all that but what I do know is...

Ever since RJJ went up to heavyweight, his blocky wide figure has never shrunk. I remember in his past fights RJ was THIN. Thin and muscular. But since he came down, hes been wider in the back, and slower in the feet. Still fast hands tho. Which makes sense that it would not be affected as much.

But I think that blockiness, slight heaviness, and his reduced stamina is what changed him from the champ of before to what he is today.

Jones fought at Featherweight in 1985, and Junior-Middleweight in 1986.

          You do the maths.

Correct. Severe muscle can and usually does permanently affect your stamina.

Furthermore, Roy did not train sufficiently or hard enough for Glen Johnson. He was very lackadaisical in his buildup to that fight, per one of my pro friends who also fights here in Pensacola.

But Roy most certainly did train hard for Tarver in all 3 fights.

The difference in Roy's body from Tarver II to Johnson can be attributed to lack of training, as well as the fact that Macky Shilstone helped Roy for the Tarver rematch but not for the Johnson fight.

That is ******. He was 15 years old and went through his normal growth spurt.

              In high school, I wrestled at 129 as a sop****re, 147-155 as a junior and 167-178 as a senior.

We all know that Roy Jones did steroids because HE TESTED POSITIVE after that fight in Indiana.

I know, he did ripped fuel, but that is not steroids
                  All other stuff.
Well it could be kinda like with Vitaly olympic steroid offense.
Which is a food for haters, but if you really look into it, you realize that it is bull****.

first off if he tested positive they would have stripped him the titles like they did to toney anyone anywhere can make that **** up. its called microsoft word. second moving uo to HW than in only a few months dropping all that weight is bad for your body. he came in cut bc macky helped him out. he took GJ lightly so didnt train for that fight. trained for the tarver 3 fight but just didnt want fight just dance and prove that he can still go without getting KOed. but if he tested positive the titles would have been stripped come on man get a clue.
