What does it matter regarding for the IBF? The WBA and WBC straps could also be sold in pawn shops too as they also have value in “Champion” status.

I mean, Ggg looking all gaunt and sweaty at press conferences hustling those appearance drains...

Funny how GGG didn’t have sunken eyes from around Rubio but was looking like Lurch since Brook...

GGG fans saying Gennady should’ve been allowed to rehydrate and bulk more since time is of the essence up to fight night right? 176 innit

Because they are fools. Jacob's didn't do anything illegal. I had GGG winning a close fight with his jab and the knockdown. It was a close fight and they wanted a reason why.
Jacob's being bigger probably helped him some, but him being a good fighter helped him more. Plus I think GGG is truly starting to slow.

They probably think GGG has no trouble making weight because he has almost always come in a little under the 160lb limit except the Canelo fight as far as I can remember. GGG was 158.8lbs for Brook fight.

I don't like that IBF rule. It could definitely help a young, strong, weight bully in a big fight. IBF needs to get rid of that rule altogether not just for unifications.

Sigh. Both fighters (like many big name fighters) are in the process of draining themselves down enough to make their limit -- in this case 160.

Both fighters want (and need) to rehydrate and put on as many pounds as they reasonably can for the upcoming fight.

Today's fighters are usually bigger guys draining down to make smaller weights than they could have in previous boxing eras Thanks to day-before weigh-ins.

Jacobs gifted himself as much as he could (by his own admission.) He blew off the IBF weigh-in, forcing his opponent to put the brakes on rehydration and refueling while Jacobs himself could max out on adding pounds.

And jeez, why not. This is not an ethical sport.

I am as big GGG fan and I never said any of those things. Who exactly are you mad at? GGG? His fans? His trainer? His promoter? Or do you just dislike anything and everything about GGG in any way, shape or form? You must admit you do seem obsessed with GGG. You start many threads about him every day and they are never complementary. The IBF rules calls for a 2nd way in the next morning to make sure neither boxer has gained more than the allowable amount of weight. I think they are only allowed to gain 10 pounds. GGG made that morning weigh in but Jacobs did not. That is why many think Jacobs outweighed GGG by many pounds. Add to that the fact that Jacobs wasn't weighed on the HBO scale on fight night. As far as I am concerned Jacobs made weight so he didn't cheat. But let's not pretend that he makes 160 easier than GGG or that he didn't outweigh GGG in the ring because he did.

Neither Golovkin, his promoter, or hell even the usual loud mouth in Abel Sanchez had a problem with it. Fans will pick what they want to pick at with some fighters. When it didn't matter to his opponent that says it all.
