Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux Dares Lomachenko To Back Up 'Destroy' Promise

On December 9th Vasyl Lomachenko will defend his WBO World Super-Featherweight Title against undefeated Guillermo Rigondeaux. The two are arguably the greatest amateur fighters in history with both winning two Olympic gold medals apiece. Since turning professional, Lomachenko has dismantled world class fighters repeatedly but will come up against perhaps his biggest test in Rigondeaux, despite the Cuban moving up two weight classes.

So many skills in one ring ! So pumped for this one.

And no one is gonna take rigo to school, loma might have an advantage but I don't think anyone is going to destroy anyone in this one

So many clueless casuals lol. Rigo will be demolished, it's a physical mismatch. And downgrading Loma to Donaire is lol as well.

Higher pace would not favour rigo imo

If loma starts slow as he usually does and rigo is allowed to get comfortable and gain confidence fighting at a new weight class, and force loma to play catch-up and potentially make mistakes then rigo could pull it off

the winner of this will be new p4P no.1. Loma will get bumped up the 2 places needed to jump Golovkin and Crawford and if Rigo wins OMG ... he will just stay there indefinitely until he either loses or retires because I don't think there is are similar matchups around for Crawford, Golovkin and Spence. Spence beats Thurman - would help but Thurman has his detractors. Crawford beating Spence could put him at no.1. Golovkin's best days are behind him and I don't think he could have beaten Ward at any time.

Pumped for this fight - best match-up this year and a top hundred matchup in the history of boxing?

Arum set this up nicely. He couldn't find the money and Rigon wanted too much at 124-126 (Remember Loma left the amateur at 132 vs Rigon 118) but 1 mil magically appears for a fight at Loma natural same day weigh-in. It's all bull. Loma gets ZERO credit for this. I didn't give Crawford credit for Gamboa, Canelo for Khan or GGG for Brook but I'm going to pretend this 2 weight class promoter setup is legit for Loma fanboys.
