If he wants the Canelo payday, he needs to start eliminating the opposition. I know it takes two to tango but if he can get the guys that canelo wants to fight first then Canelo would have nowhere to turn.

Definitely a good move for Jacobs. You always wanna be closer to the best guys + the money guys in your division if you aren't the best guy or the money guy. And HBO gots Canelo + GGG who are the best guys who are paying the most to fight them currently so you are putting yourself in best position to become the best guy in your division + as well paid as possible win or lose.

With HBO now working with Hearn, Jacobs & angling towards getting Joshua (& I believe they'll get him eventually) the death of HBO boxing might not be as predestined as some, myself included, are thinking. If HBO does nab Joshua thats a huge move going into the future for them & maybe the hugest move in quite awhile if its a multi-year deal.
