Can you box without joining USA Boxing or a similar brand?

Im 16 and want to compete in Jr Olympics but dont have the capital. I dont attend a boxing gym I practice Sanda and Kung Fu but my actual fighting/Boxing skill comes from Sanda. Iv competes in light sparring competitions such as ICMAC but want to try competing in boxing tournaments. I,d love to hear any recommendations that could lead me to competitions. Thankyou.

You have to join USA Boxing it's kind of like you're insurance in case you get hurt which you will if your green and try to enter a boxing tournament full of skilled Open fighters

USA Boxing is the only path to the Olympics in the U.S. The cost to register isn't outrageous. I mean, if you REALLY want it, then you'll find a way to come up with $65. Rake leaves, mow lawns, shovel driveways, bag groceries, whatever.
