Comments Thread For: Sor Rungvisai: Chocolatito Has Still Got It, He Shouldn't Retire

Srisaket Sor Rungvisai hopes Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez doesn't retire. Thailand's Sor Rungvisai respects the former pound-for-pound king and wants to see Gonzalez bounce back from a brutal knockout loss to him in their second fight last month. Sor Rungvisai battered Gonzalez before knocking him out in the fourth round of their WBC super flyweight championship rematch September 9 in Carson, California.

People calling for his retirement are a joke.

There is still money to be made for this man. He could easily gross a couple mill by being a gate keeper, not saying he is a gatekeeper but he could still have a career.

Boxing fans are really strange. They enjoy seeing fighters careers die and are obsessed with the idea that "someone was ruined" from a single fight. Which is less often the reason for downfall in my opinion.

I believe it's more often out of the ring stuff that destroys boxers. Much of which us fans don't even know about.

Perhaps Srisaket should move up a couple divisions and find out how it felt being 'Chocolatito'. Estrada just moved up from flyweight, so Sor Rungvisai will be facing another smaller fighter than him...when are these guys going to show the heart of a Roman Gonzalez?! a guy from miniweight gave you hell in the first fight and the majority seen you lose!

That's true I felt Chocolatito got robbed in the first fight also. And he did challenge himself by moving up. Some fighters spend their entire in one division afraid to move so I still give Roman a lot of credit.

What did I say that is false? its a fact that Rungvisai best wins maybe against two men coming up in weight; I say maybe because Juan Fransico Estrada has a good shot at beating him.

Estrada is next hes coming up from Flyweight, Cuadras and Yota Sato were the only legit 115 pounders he faced and Cuadras took his title. But as far as excuses I made none regarding the second fight, Gonzalez got beat but there were clear fouls made in the first fight that had some influence on the outcome, these are the facts.
