As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, the light heavyweight showdown between Adonis Stevenson and Eleider Alvarez is in serious negotiations, but the contest may very well get pushed back to January 2018. Their mutual promoter, Yvon Michel of GYM, is having a tough time matching up a date and venue that works for Showtime. Alvarez has been the mandatory challenger, for nearly two years, to Stevenson's WBC light heavyweight title. The only thing left to do is to find a date that works for American television.

Something about this doesn't seem right...how would the WBC not approve a Stevenson-Jack fight if Jack does not have a belt, but approved the Wilder-Ortiz fight when Ortiz did not have a belt?

Stevenson scared or Alvarez. Just like he is terrified of Kovalev, Ward, old man Hopkins and Pascal. The guy is a big time joke, Sideshow Stevenson only a thing in Canada where they still actually respect this coward.
