He's very wiry, with jerky movements and odd punch timing. Though he frustrates opponents like Ward, Ward is far more deliberate and fluid whereas Bredis is just constant movement and output.
He's more Calzaghe-like in that sense. His opponents don't get the opportunity to set anything up because he's either moving or punching, or both.
Ward should be more fluid he is a lighter fighter.
I see some similarities to Calzaghe, but Joe didn't hold as much as Briedis nor Ward.
And that's what I'm basically comparing. Both Briedis and Ward have the throw and hold technique to them. Except Ward likes to go forward or stay in the center of the ring, while Briedis prefers to go backwards, at least for this fight.
But you are right I do see some similarities to Calzaghe.
