Ward has no interest in fighting Stevenson. I don't think this fight would generate the amount of money or buzz as the fights with Kovalev. I don't have a problem with this fight not happening if Ward never steps in the ring again.

Exactly how many ppv buys was this fight gonna get to justify paying Ward 5 million? We established with Golovkin that filling an arena doesn't necessarily translate to big revenue, so where was the money going to come from? The Stevenson message was consistent. It's was essentially, dude you been sitting around fighting bums not building your revenue base, now all of a sudden you want to unify. How did he help to build such a fight versus Kovalev or Ward? Having a belt doesn't make money. Hell unification don't really make money. Names make money.

How much money did Ward make when he fought Barrera, and those other bums he fought before Kovalev?

Why is money all of a sudden an issue when it comes to Stevenson? Because I'm sure Stevenson would have made him much more money than those guys.

I'm surprised at how many people don't know about the Beyonce beef with Al Haymon! However, this should've been known before Ward and Cotto signed with Roc Nation. Nice guarantee purses, but limited number of opponents.

I posted earlier in the week that boxers use the "no money in that fight" excuse to duck somebody or the "who has he fought" excuse. His last two fights he made $10 combined. In the three fights prior to that he made an average of $2 million per fight.

There was no way in hell Roc Nation was going to guarantee a purse that big for a fight that would generate a million in revenue tops at the live gate. They've lost enough money with him lol I think they're done playing in boxing.

Furthermore, they would have to get the card picked up by a network, which in this case would've Showtime. Roc Nation making money from Showtime is laughable to even entertain.
