Comments Thread For: Cletus Seldin Decisions Renald Garrido in Ten Round Brawl

Last night at the Paramount in Huntington, NY, Cletus "The Hebrew Hammer" Seldin and Renald "Le Lion" Garrido thrilled a large enthusiastic crowd as they waged a vicious war over 10 rounds in a Jr. Welterweight matchup. Seldin was returning after a 16 month layoff and picked no easy mark in the iron chinned Garrido as his opponent. From the opening bell to the closing bell the two warriors charged at each other unleashing punches in a non-stop fashion often bringing the big crowd to their feet in appreciation.

    Headlining a card vs a 19-16 3 K.O opponent...this **** shouldn't even be approved by boxing commissions.

The fight was somewhat competitive too which is sad. Seldin won't make it very far.

He's made it farther than you have in boxing. Its fans like you who destroy the sport and always find something to complain about, and you even said it was competitive so why are you bashing? Stfu and enjoy the show. Lets see you get in there and fight or even spar.

        PTI ....

time to get off of your soapbox

        criticisms are necessary and natural.

thats like any of us complaining about a terrible singer. lets see any of us get on a stage and SERIOUSLY perform in front of only 100 people.

or a crappy movie. lets see any of us make a decent 5 minute youtube video.

        on and on.....

a guy with a 19-16 record should give it a rest before he gets hurt and blames the sport.

This so-called hammer in my opinion had to even struggle to overcome 19- 16 opponent... he's being nurse and protective more than Alvarez was his first couple years in pro boxing I predict as soon as this guy steps up to anyone even close to analy he's gone ...he may be gone sooner if he goes back on those pens he was taking..

Why is a guy who's 19-0 with 16 KOs headlining a card against a 19-16 guy with 3 KOs? That shouldn't be a headline that's not a competitive fight. The fact the fight was competitive tells you all you need to know about the 19-0 guy. With a record like that you should at least be fighting a respectable journeyman. We know this guy cannot hang with even contenders or prospects let alone the top guys in his division. This fight should be on some undercard or something off of T.V not a headliner. You never saw Gary Russell jr. headline vs all the TBA's he fought. They all had much better records too.

Do you guys know about the fight game? I mean REALLY know the fight game. Theres alot of guys out there that really have skill and talent but are just flat out lazy. I know a few. Dont judge a book by its cover. You don't know how hard he trained if at all for those losses. And hell all you know for this fight he could've trained his ass off for months and came up short. So please like I said until you've really been around the game and not on here just talking **** about what you think you know don't try and justify talking **** about someone you wouldnt even get in the ring with. I know a guy who was number 1 heavyweight as an amatuer and abd beat every big name heavyweight you could think of easily in the 90s and literally just got lazy after 7 pro fights. Does that mean he cant fight and has no skill anymore??? No just lazy
