They are facing each other and GGG throws a regular overhead right hand and Canelo moves his head to avoid the punch causing it to land partially on his ear and maybe the side of the head. Even if it was flush behind the head which was clearly not, it wasnt illegal because there was not intention to hit there and it was Canelo who moved his head that way.

This is a good example of what GGG needs to fix in the rematch of he wants to stop Canelo. See how he lets off the gas after the right hand? Old time boxing trainers call this taking a picture. It's an amateur mistake.

The pro-tip here is keep punching instead of admiring your work. Left hook, right hand, etc.
