Comments Thread For: Orlando Salido Testing The Waters With Abel Sanchez in Big Bear

Former world champion Orlando 'Siri' Salido arrived in Big Bear for a test run with Mexican trainer Abel Sanchez, as the veteran fighter prepares for his next fight set for November 25 in New York against an opponent yet to be defined, according to manager Sean Gibbons. It had been said that Salido was going to face Puerto Rican Jonathan Oquendo as part of the undercard of Sergey Kovalev and Vyacheslav Shabransky from New York's Madison Square Garden Theater, but Gibbons said he has yet to confirm that.

I love salido, but he needs to keep whats working for him. He's a bad man no matter what respect. I hope he gets a big payday soon cuz he deserves it

Sanchez likes aggressive fighters and Salido is already aggressive. Not sure what he could learn here.

This should be a good pairing! Hopefully we get Berchelt vs. Salido! That also should be a good pairing!

This man belongs there with the likes of Marquez, Barrera, Morales... Hall of famer...this man is seriously under appreciated because of all the losses on his record... he has killed, up and coming young rising superstars more than twice... and has outperformed any of the top fighters of this decade... all his fights are actual fights... and full of excitement and adrenaline... Hope he keeps his momentum with abel even though father time will ultimately decide the outcome of that.... Personally Salido is one of the all time great mexican fighters.... a lot of his losses were robberies too!!!

Abel felt punked when Chepo Reynoso told him that he has an actual Mexican fighter.... so now....there you have it..

Salido has had an excellent career so far and made the most of his natural abilities. He should stick to what has been working for him and got him where he is today. Abel Sanchez has nothing to teach him at this point. I think he was just looking for a different routine in a different environment to find enough motivation for his last few fights.
