    no.

somebody's heart will stop in training. some fighters will retire at 35 and be dead in six years from liver, kidney, or heart failure. somebody will get pummeled to death in the ring because his opponent can throw extra punches, and he can take extra damage because he's pumped full of PEDS and in better shape.

Even if you are only limiting, and not erradicating, PED use, then I would say it is worth it.

The threat of tests keeps these guys on microdoses. Imagine if they were pumping themselves to the max.

      Dangerous for everyone.

Well it would certainly result in fewer belts being required. Most fighters would be dead within 3 fights of taking enhanced punches. (brain damage anyone?)

Once the peds wear off, your body will be left to deal with the damage, not to mention what sustained ped use would do your mental health, mood and general outlook.

        Lets hope not.

            Too dangerous.

BUT.. I wouldn't necessarily object to older fighters using TRT just to get their test levels up.

It is the ONLY thing that makes sense in boxing. Look at how great MLB got once it was a level playing field.
I vote no. Peds have all kinds of long term health effects on athletes.
If Peds are legal there will be a lot of pressure on boxers to take them because they will be at a disadvantage if they don't. Enforce the rules.

                    Typical reproaches:

"Greater health damage suffered from taking PED enhanced punches"

More knockouts and quicker knockouts would occur with PED use. Which means likelihood of less damage suffered compared to taking a sustained beating from a boxer with medium / average punching power.

"Health side affects from taking PED"

If PED is officially legalized, then scientists will work in the open to make PED as safe as any legal medicine so as to ensure it won't be as dangerous as it is right now. The reason it is as dangerous as it is right now is because PED isn't properly researched about as it should be and isn't produced in optimal condition due to being produced illegally in the private.

There's no reason why illegal PED couldn't be as 'safe' as legal drugs / medicines such as pain killers for example.

The sport of boxing also has a long term health effect on athletes too. Should the sport of boxing be banned too?

If peds are officially legal, then peds will become safer because scientists and experts will be working in the open, rather than in the secret to ensure peds are safe and and are at most optimum condition for use. And it will be readily available for everyone to use since it would be out in the open. And if it's readily available in the open, then there shouldn't be any reason why all the boxers couldn't use them.
