It's actually Ward who said that Stevenson hadn't done enough to be granted a fight. While boxing is too dangerous of a sport to do when the motivation is gone, I'm surprised Ward couldn't muster enough motivation to go after the last belt and then retire as the undisputed LHW champion.

I wasn't aware. Looks like Ward didn't want the fight because he was planning retirement. Oh well.

No I still want to see this fight also. It would be a great fight to watch.

This would be a great true "prize fight", winner takes the majority of the purse. Fights like this typically dont get made because 1 guy feels as if he should get some huge purse when neither guy is an A lister. Their skillset is superior to most though. I dont think this should be a winner takes all but I think the winner should definitely get the bigger side of the purse. I think Kovalev is arrogant enough to take those terms, IDK if Stevenson is though.

Kov's ego won't allow him to call out Adonis cuz he feels Adonis ducked him(rightfully so)!

Andre Ward as good a fighter as he is/was he didn't want to fight Stevenson. I'm a fan of both guys but if Stevenson is a real coward why don't any of these fighters take his belt then. I don't understand that concept. If a guy is truly a easy way to get a belt then why aren't people lining up to fight Stevenson. When a fighter is not a threat or is a paper champ fights get made easy. If a fighter poses a threat they will say there's no money in that fight and still fight a guy no ones heard of. Then the "They're to green" excuse not to fight someone. That's the only thing I don't like about boxing besides the judges. I want to see Kovalev vs Stevenson just get it done promoters. If we can get a ufc boxing crossover fight and Arum can work with Haymon then surely they can make this fight happen right??
