  • Comments Thread For: Erickson Lubin: I'm Ready To Be Great, I Want To Unify 154

By Thomas Gerbasi - Erickson Lubin is a cool customer, the kind of fighter you won't catch giving away his intentions with his eyes or demeanor. That alone makes him a tough puzzle to crack. Add in the power coming from his southpaw stance, and there's no surprise that he's soared into a world title fight against Jermell Charlo after just 18 pro fights But bring up the chatter that has some wondering if he's ready to challenge for Charlo's WBC junior middleweight title on Oct. 14, and you can see the fighter's fire ignite...

A very big step up in class for moving but I really hope he would pull this off I think he would be a better Champion than Charlo who really is kind of picky with whom he fights...

I like this kid a lot, but I'm not sure if he's ready for Charlo. The Charlo Bros. are very highly-skilled fighters! I would've rather seen Lubin vs. Trout, and Charlo vs. Hurd! Lara shouldn't be fighting anyone @ 154 not named Andrade or Cotto!

I like Lubin's style in the ring and he seems like a decent personality outside of the ring. It's a big step up for him but I hope he can pull it off.

I think he can do it.

Lubin has been pretty open about his motivation for taking the Charlo fight: Jermell looked ordinary against Vanes and Jackson (prior to the stoppage) and he views the KO of Hatley as a bit of a mirage given that fighter's quality. I'm excited to see if Lubin can make this giant step up.

That's Errol Spence's division soon, so you better hurry...
