WBO vice president John Duggan is fully backing the twelve round majority decision to award WBO heavyweight Joseph Parker a big win over mandatory challenger Hughie Fury last Staurday night in Manchester. Duggan made it clear that Fury had no chance of having the result overturned by the WBO, and that Parker was a clear winner. The only controversy was as a lucky challenger he pulled out of the fight with a suspect injury having said he was never comfortable fighting in the champions country and then got the fight in his home town ......move on Fury you had your chance against the weakest one out there.

Suspect ? It goes beyond suspect, he pulled out with an injury a few days before the fight when he should have been in NZ at least 11 days before he pulled out the fight 3 days before it was to take place. It's irrelevant anyway, Furry was shown Saturday night how relevant he is on the world stage.

Their is no one who is clamouring to see a rematch thankfully the WBO have realised too and Parker moves on, let the guy fight in Japan for big money and come back to whack Whyte to build up an AJ fight, Whyte is a serious bum and Parker will expose him as nothing more than another undeserving loser on the world stage.

Hughie looks like he has more natural talent than his cousin, He is lighter on his feet, better reflexes and speed but what lets him down is his negative style and lack of assertiveness.
He needs to develop his offensive game but it will be a difficult adjustment for him to make because it goes against his natural style. He is still young enough to comeback but what you see is what you get with him. I don’t see him changing all that much and as a result he will never be a big player in the division.

Parker, despite appearing to get outboxed in parts of the fight has the right attitude. He isn’t afraid to take risks, he’s is respectful outside the ring, humble and willing to travel. Inside he has some work to do on his boxing because has decent all around fundamentals and will improve with experience.
