Comments Thread For: Carl Frampton vs. Oscar Valdez Showdown is Targeted By Arum

Former WBA world featherweight champion Carl Frampton (23-1, 14 KOs) is open to facing WBO titlist Oscar Valdez (23-0, 19 KOs), as he looks to reclaim a world title. Frampton, the only Northern Irishman to have won world titles in two weight classes, lost his belt in a rematch with talented Mexican Leo Santa Cruz in January. After signing a promotional deal with Frank Warren, he has set his sights on becoming world champion once again as he starts a new chapter in his career.

That is a decent line up plus I think Frampton should move up soon too

I think Frampton could make Valdez pay for the mistakes he makes.

Frampton wins if he ain't shot from his first loss.

Would be a pretty good fight!

I'm a fan of Valdez but I think he needs atleast 2 veteran type fights before facing a world champion or the former!

Valdez only beats Selby IMO at 126 but if he can figure out how to establish a better up and down jab and time his opponents better then he can wreak havoc on anyone!

His power, hooks, toughness, and potential can be heightened with a better coach!

That's a solid test. Valdez is young and hungry but looked kind of vulnerable in his last fight. Froch is usually pretty good at taming wild sluggers but who knows, youth just might get to him.
