OK, ask yourself this, is Barrera more interested in money or getting a title shot and the opportunities that come with it? Are you trying to say he pulled out of the IBF eliminator v Beterbiev earlier this year and gave up the chance to have another shot at Ward, solely because of money? And as a result was suspended from the IBF rankings for 6 months. Actions speak louder than words.

they offered 30k vs berteviev. That is no money for a title fight. He needs to pay trainer, expenses, food, etc...

Sucks this fight isn't happening, Bivol-Barrera would've made for another great fight in 2017.

You can make great fights with practically anyone in the division. This division needs a tournament badly.

              What?

If it's not obvious to you that this was intentional then -you- are the Forrest Gump of posters.

Top Rank is putting their guys on ESPN and Duva is positioning Main Events to get as much of HBO's budget and as many dates as she can to fill the void.

              This way, she gets:

Bivol vs Bumsville - Nov 4th
Kovalev vs Shabby - Nov 25th
Kovalev vs Bivol - Early spring
              then
              Winner of Kov-Bivol vs Barrera?

Main events also has the Lepikhin guy to mix in, although I'd bet well see Barrera fighting a Donovan George type guy on one of these undercards while he waits for his shot.

Either way, Duva is doing the opposite of being a poor businesswoman.

Main Events is the worse! Not only does Barerra "NOT" get a fight with Beterbiev, "NOR" Kovalev, he also does "NOT" get a fight with Bivol? That's bananas! Free Barerra!

Point taken. Kovalev/Bivol vs. Barrera is a such an epic clash of titans it requires Gamboa-JuanMa levels of marination.

So in the meantime we get to enjoy:
                  Kovalev vs. bum
                  Bivol vs. bum
Barrera vs. bum (probably on an undercard like you said since he's not the right nationality/skin tone for them to push)

All on the dime of HBO subscribers as Krooked Kathy sucks them dry. She is an evil genius and Peter Nelson is the Forrest Gump of boxing. Back to the days of Andre Berto vs. bum of the month level HBO headliners.

Agree completely on Peter Nelson. They have no direction and it really seems like little interest in boxing.

Hershman obviously didn't like how things were going at HBO and left... they obviously didn't let him do things how he felt they should but done. But ironically Hershman-era Showtime style boxing programming is EXACTLY what HBO needed/needs right now in my opinion.... making consistent, competitive, and exciting matchups on a small budget is what put Hershman and Showtime boxing on the fuckin' map!

WBA wasn't fair to Barrera. He deserve this opportunity.
