Comments Thread For: Hearn on Jacobs' Options: Golovkin II, Canelo, Lemieux, Saunders

This past weekend, British promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport began his conquest of the American market. Known as the promoter for most of the biggest names in the UK market, Hearn is now looking to replicate his success in the United States. He started things off with a ****. His first acquisition is former WBA 'regular' middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs).

Even with HBO backing, hard to see Jacobs getting GGG/Canelo/Saunders in the ring within the next year. Lem fight could happen though if both want it.

I'd be surprised if Hearn can get GGG II or Canelo next. Even if they wanna stretch out there rematch til Sept. I'd be surprised if either guy is willing to get put in vs Jacobs. That didn't turn into an easy night for GGG the first time & idk if anything changes a 2nd time & idk if thats a easy fight for Canelo either Canelo & GGG will wanna fight in May or they'll want a less harsh fight..

Saunder should go hide in a hole

Now Way Hearns puts Billy Joe Saunders in with Jacobs! Jacobs would absolutely destroy Saunders. If that fight was to take place the best outcome for Saunders would be he gets knocked out quickly in order to prevent him from taking a career ending beating. Saunders id so below the class of Jacobs, GGG, Canelo, Lemeux and Spence that having the title may he biggest curse. He can only go on fighting stiffs for so long before he ends up in the ring with any of these four and gets totally destroyed

Golovkin won't go near Jacobs because an L screws up the Canelo rematch.

Saunders will only settle for Jacobs if he can't get Golovkin because an L nixes a fight with G (or Saul).
Lemeiux might take it, but Jacobs will do him worse than G did.

Golovkin is most likely retiring after the Canelo rematch. He's not going to return at 36 to fight for $2M.
