Nearly two years out of the ring, training hard and eating full meals, Floyd was only able to get himself up to 149.5lbs for his final fight.

Floyd is basically a junior welterweight, fighting out of his division off of sheer ability.

He felt Golovkin brought nothing to the table, so the contest was never seriously discussed. But Golovkin, on several occasions, made it clear that he was willing to squeeze himself down to the junior middleweight limit of 154-pounds for the contest. Mayweather has held the WBA, WBC belts at 154.

they were mentioning Mayweather back in 2013, at 154

FACT: back in 2013, at 154..... Mayweather beats Golovkin..... along with every other active fighter who thought that he could make JMW

yea, go on..... now run around and tell me that Golovkin would be the same fighter at 154

going by their track record, I doubt they would have agree to face Mayweather at 154..... because they promised to fight Canelo at 154 and we all saw what happened there

While T.B.E. wiped the floor with Nelo lil g struggled with Nelo & Nelo can't even fight at 168 but lil g can & if he moves to 168 it's pretty save to say that he will not be in that ring with a good 68 pounder. Floyd spanks lil g, EASY WORK!
Yes, because the 170 pound Canelo demanding a catchweight would be beneficial to him. I thought Floyd was the A side? GGG had no problem with Canelo and won the fight 116-112- 8 rounds to 4. Talk about common sense not working, lol. Wow.

Welter is Floyd fourth weight class is golovkin first. Even so younger Floyd beats golovkin but forty year old inactive small Floyd gets destroyed.
pretty much this...except even a younger version of Floyd is in tough with 2013-2014 version of ggg. mw is just too much for Floyd...he'd have to be very selective with his opponents to get quality wins at that weight. it'll be funny to see Floyd's fan boys insist that ggg would be "easy work" for a 40 yr old Floyd tho.

              • Floyd and Golovkin should NEVER be mentioned in the same paragraph. Floyd's pupil (Canelo) has shown what a one-dimensional robot Golovkin truly is. No defense, no finnese, no adjustments, block punches with your face. That's the Golovkin style.

                • Even an old 2013 Mayweather schools him. Straight up and down, slow, no defense, the same punches over and over. Just way too predictable.

On another note GGG knew what Ward would do to him.

Who's he gonna call out next? Manny Pacquiao, Keith Thurman? Maybe Lomachenko after his recent negative comments? I wouldn't be surprised

                  • Just LOL @ calling out a guy who walks around 30lbs lighter than you.

It's like saying "GGG knows what Usyk would do to him"

                    • The Mayweather that fought Oscar De La Hoya, probably would of won! (The fight would look similar to his performance up against Carlos Baldimir).
