Maybe he's mostly a fast twitch muscle guy? Most of the fighters with good stamina tend to have a moderately sized musculature, i.e. not too bulky, GGG, Floyd, Margarito have stringy physiques with a mix of slow and fast twitch muscle fibres.

Is Canelo one of these guys?

Remember Tommy Morrison. He had similar issues.

No. Alvarez is comfortable with fighting at his own pace, which means going into defensive mode and resting at times each round.
It's his style and it worked for him in almost all his fights. It's not a conditioning thing, he's just not comfortable fighting 3 minutes of every round.

His stamina sucks and GGG still couldn't hurt him.

He's going to have to change. He won't be able to hang with the elite fighters in the Middleweight division if he doesn't.

He's a mesomorph with muscles having large bellies. Aerobic stamina is not going to be an attribute of a fighter with that type of body build. He reminds me of Arthur Abraham who fought in spurts to avoid gassing out. Somebody with power and a good engine to sustain a high output offense will be bad for Canelo.

I mean think about a guy like Bo Jackson. Guy competed at a high level in two sports for a time. That dude had a high f#cking ceiling in some categories that most of us just aren't going to have. And thats not to say he didn't put some time in to get at that high level, but idk that most cats could reach the level Bo reached with 2x as much time to work on it.
Bo Jackson doesn't relate to this topic at all, this is about endurance. But bo was dope

I think so. He is a very dedicated boxer who loves boxing. He trains very hard and takes care of himself at all times. The stamina you see is the stamina he has. Some humans just have more or less stamina that others even if they both train equally hard.

Canelo can if he wants to but he doesn't have the discipline to do so. A lot of it is mental. I can tell you from experience, you have to push yourself to go past that wall.

I agree. Especially when he was doing his own division thing. That just showed me that he wasn't willing to go the extra mile. It feeds onto your brain.
