I would argue that the default #1 should be Terance Crawford but the Rigo/Loma winner would make a good argument.
Also, ESPN's divisional rankings are done by Rafael alone but P4P is a 10 person panel
Their most current rankings, as of August 31, have Ward #1
Also, Rafael kept Floyd on his list after Mayweather "hung 'em up" in the past. I guess the main reason is that boxers have been known to "unretire." Makes sense, when you think about it. If Ward were to announce a "comeback" fight in six months, he could easily still be regarded as #1.
