speaking of ward...he could have fought him....but opted to not risk losing a canelo fight....his fans have mocked every other fighter on the planet for making smart business decisions ....but gave golovkin a pass without blinking "well duh of course hes going to wanna fight canelo its just smart business".....

the guy mocked canelo for khan and then turned and did the same thing with brook...not to mention they tried to con the public into believing that fight just sort of happened last minute when it was obvious it was a setup

his trainer goes around telling everyone how he can beat everyone at LHW when hes struggling with top level comp in his own division......now granted I understand you take trainer talk with a grain of salt...this is probably the least of his infractions but still....its terrible
There really is no reason for "hate". It is ****** and totally emotionally immature. You can dislike a guy, you can be critical but when you get into "hate" you are no longer making rational arguments.

Who cares if SOME of his fans have said he is an ATG. Make your point why he isn't and refute them with evidence. I've had plenty of disagreements on certain fighters and were they rank, I don't have to hate them.

As for Ward, his situation isn't exactly comparable to Golovkin. First and most importantly Ward had no financial incentive to stay at 168lbs. There was no Canelo type of fight, not even a Cotto type of money fight. Also unlike Golovkin, by all indications, he couldn't make that weight anymore. Kovalev was literally the best pay day for Ward. Ward didn't just move up because he was challenging himself, he moved up because of money and his weight. If he was in the same situation as Golovkin he wouldn't have done any differently IMO nor would any fighter with a lick of common sense.

How long did it take Hopkins to move up? 3 years after he defeated Tito he stayed in a weak MW division. Ultimately he got DLH, who had no business sniffing around that division, to fight. After the DLH victory he still didn't move up until Taylor beat him. I'm not picking on Hops and I doubt Golovkin will ever do what Hopkins did post MW division but Golovkin and Hopkins have a lot of similarities up to this point in their respective careers.

Some of his fans may have mocked people for making business moves, some fans don't speak for all of us even on a forum like this.

Please provide me the proof that Brook was the target because everything I've read, even the opposing promoter, said Eubanks Jr. was the guy they were lined up to fight. He or better said his dad punked out. So please provide some proof because what you are stating about a set up sounds like pure BS. This is what haters do, make up BS. I'm open to you proving your point, otherwise you just look like another PMS hater.

I don't get why anyone would get upset about a trainer saying something. If I had a dollar for every trainer who said something over the top I'd be ****** rich. I'll take a dollar for Ward's trainer saying they should skip the cruiserweight division and target Joshua Anthony. Um okay, sure.

omg dude...it isnt actualy "hate" man...its dislike....hate is just a word....there is no action behind it other than me typing words about how i "dislike" him...jesus...your immature fanboy psyche cant fathom that though.........its not like actual hate lol

ive made plenty of points and had plenty of debates and his fans just refute everything i say without any actual basis or logic.........

just be real...his "internet boxing boards fans" give him a free pass for everything and he can do no wrong....case in point right now...YOU

i could agree with you and acknowledge that ward moved up because of kovalev and it being the best money fight and just best fight for him...but dont give me the weight excuse

ward weighed in at 171 for the paul smith fight....which was a LHW fight....he did that because he was trying to contact golovkins camp for a 168 fight(which would have been as big for him as the kovalev fight)....he did it so he could keep himself half way

in FACT...he did contact golovkins team about a fight at 168 and said they would each take one tuneup after golovkin fought lemieux.....he was refuted in a half hour...they didnt even tell him they would look into it and get back to him....they flat out said NO thanks

you mean to tell me Ward was contacting them about a fight at 168, which would have been at least 8-10 months away, but couldnt make 168? when has ward ever given you a reason to not believe he could make a weight he said he can and was trying to secure a fight at?

proof that brook was a target? i dunno if i can find it but i guarantee others can back me up on this cause i know it exists and ive seen it.....golovkin was asked about brook like a year or so before in an interview...about fighting him....and golovkin said "no he too small"......why would that fight even be mentioned? then all of the sudden brook/vargas and ggg/eubank just happen to fall through? cmon man....read between lines......i bet that wont be good enough...youll want actual legit proof like me with a bugged recording of hearn admitting it or else its just false........talk of brook/golovkin fight had surfaced like a year earlier even though it made like no sense at all

and here we go again with the bernard hopkins name being thrown around to protect ggg....you guys just dont get it...you keep comparing gggs mw reign to hopkins as if it put him in the same company....IT DOESNT

you fully admit that you dont think that golovkin will ever accomplish what Hops did after MW....so why mention him at all? you realize that hops is so revered because of what he did AFTER MW right?!?!?!

if hops had quit after taylor fights his resume and career would be picked apart and called relatively weak.....believe me...it would be the same song and dance from the EE fanboys....hopkins wouldnt be nearly as revered....so stop trying to use his MW reign and his career and try to tie it to golovkin.....it happens daily.....and its apples to oranges.....hops is a legend for doing what he did after MW.....otherwise hes probably around the same boat as golovkin

Hate and dislike are different. I dislike Mayweather, I don't hate Mayweather. I'm not going to look for every way to slam him and get into emotional rants. I can separate how I personally feel about an athlete and judge them on what I believe they've accomplished in the ring. A hater lets everything cloud their judgement. There is a difference.

Here's a news flash but Golovkin's fans are not different than other hardcore fans. You always have an element of fans, and more so on forums like these, who give their fighter a pass on everything. Next you'll tell me water is wet. No fighter is perfect and anyone spouting that is obviously a fanboy.

Regarding Ward I didn't even mention Golovkin. Ward move up because of money and he couldn't make the weight consistently. Now could he have made weight for Golovkin, probably I'd assume. Of course you've taken the whole Ward story and line of thinking 100%. You want to read behind the lines selectively. I'm actually so sick of this Ward-Golovkin crap since I've given my opinion a million times. I don't believe first off anyone "ducked" anyone. The fight wasn't possible when it was first proposed and it made no sense for Golovkin when Ward brought it back up in 2015.

Find me proof, this is classic hater stuff you are throwing up on Brook. You have nothing but your gut which is refuted by everyone involved. There is no denying Eubanks Sr. ultimately was the big road block. When people do stuff like this I know I'm not dealing with someone who can be subjective.

          http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/i...-crazy-demands

Why mention Hopkins, um because he is one of the greatest MWs in history, top 10. And no you don't become one of the best MWs in history because of what you did in higher divisions. No doubt Hopkins became so much more than he is in boxing because of what he did after MW but he is still considered an ATG MW. I believe when he fought Taylor the first time he was considered #1 P4P, if not he wouldn't have been any lower than #2. Right now Golovkin has the opportunity to become one of the greatest MWs in history, just like Hops did in his time. Can he be the overall fighter that Hops is, I'd say very unlikely.

So while I don't believe Golovkin will accomplish what Hops did I do believe they have similar career paths to date at MW. I don't have a crystal ball so I'm going to base my opinion on what is happening currently. If I went back to Hopkins I didn't and most of the boxing world wasn't ripping on him like the haters do with Golovkin. Now in fairness Hops also didn't get the same kind of love Golovkin has received, he was definitely more under the radar. Also that isn't to say their wasn't criticism of Hops competition just like Golovkin's today, and both are justified to an extent.

To sum, if you are comparing Golovkin to Hops as MW it is apples to apples. If you are comparing Hops to Golovkin overall careers then yes it is apples to oranges at this time.

im not going to argue with you anymore...because its clear you are a golovkin fanboy

the fight didnt make sense when ward brought it up in late 2015? what exactly did golovkin do in 2016? he fought a welterweight and an ibf mandatory injury replacement......and till that point his resume was absolutely weak....ward was an established p4per

it still took almost two years for him to get the fight that he ducked a ward fight for.....it didnt "make sense" becuase he would have been an underdog and we know golovkin aint bout that life

The fact you constantly want to talk about Ward tells me all I need to know about you.

And of course the fact you made up total BS about the Brook fight speaks to the depths you are wiling to sink to.

The lack of self awareness in the OP is hilarious. There really ought to be a forum for fans or boxing and for fans of boxers on here. Let the mature people discuss boxing intelligently in one and let the fanboys/trolls/haters/intellectually challenged keep doing what they do in the other.

lolol..i didnt make anything up...someone, awhile back, posted a video from about a year before ggg/brook where someone asked about potentially fighting brook....and golovkin shot it down saying hes too small...it exists.....you can pretend it doesnt its fine

so lemme get this straight...brook/vargas and ggg/eubank just both happen to fall through....so why doesnt loeffler ask hearn about degale? he doesnt ....loeffler says "we would have fought degale if he was offered to us but they offered us brook"

let me ask you something you clown? now ive heard loeffler state how they pick opponents and usually work from a list of 3-4 guys and start at the top.......why would you keep waiting so long in eubank, to the last minute, without getting ink to paper? normally by a certain time you would move on to the next guy....but notice how they didn...they let it drag out and drag out with no contract until the point where "we had no choice brook was the only option they had for us"...what a coinkydink huh?

ya...i do mention WARD...you know why? because GGG had a top 5 p4p guy one division away for him to fight...and that guy called him and was ready to put something together....and Golovkin said "no thanks" within a half hour.....so sorry i know mentioning WARD bothers you golovkin fanboys and makes you insecure

golovkin would rather sit there and bring up welterweights and wait 2 years for 25 year old kid with no wins at MW.....rather than fight a couple of quality guys his own size or slightly bigger....now...normally that wouldnt be a huge deal.....if it werent for his fans running around forums declaring he whoops everyone and anyone who ever fought.....but of course you dont see that...cause yer a fanboy

his fans can go around forums calling floyd a pansy....ward a pansy who will be savagely ko'd by killer kovalev...and calling a 26 year old kid with no fights against MWs "Canyellow".....but the minute you question the great golovkin? oh boy.....how dare we
