Comments Thread For: Michael Conlan Drops, Stops Kenny Guzman in Second Round

Michael Conlan did was he was supposed to do Friday night against an opponent who's not a full-time boxer. The 2016 Irish Olympian stopped Kenny Guzman in the second round of a scheduled six-round featherweight fight in Tucson, Arizona. The Conlan-Guzman match was televised by ESPN from the Tucson Convention Center as part of the Oscar Valdez-Genesis Servania undercard.

Another fight, another KO, but the fact he is on the Loma vs Rigo undercard might set him up for a possible fight against the winner in the next couple of years? I know he wanted to fight in Belfast in Dec but is he being put on the fast track to fight Loma or Rigo?

eh. These come up fights are what they are, it just wasn't overly impressive. He had every imaginable advantage over this guy, size, length/reach, speed, power...
