My response was to the gentleman who claimed Floyd was dominated by Castillo. That did not happen.

The fight was close enough for him to think that. When I saw it live I had it a draw. I had Floyd winning the first five and either the 9th or 10th. As I have watched it since I have it either 6-6 or 7-5 Castillo.

Every time I watch it I conclude that on a 10 must system over 12 rounds it was a draw but that Castillo was the better fighter that night. Floyd gave him a rematch and beat him easy.

as for the fight, Castillo dominated the fight. Had a slow start (which made it a closer score) relative to how he picked it up as the fight went on but Castillo did not lose the first 5 rounds of the fight. Floyd was not dominating the champ ,Castillo. The rounds were close and there was not much action early on.

The 2nd half of the fight, when the action picked up, it was all Castillo.

It was a while back .... but there was someone who had analyzed the fight including the early rounds and he made some interesting observations.

in all honesty, ggg's jabs are harder punches than most of what Floyd landed vs pac.

and imagine, this video is supposed to be Floyd's best highlight moments of the whole fight!!!

If you look carefully, some were blocked, partially blocked, missed, can't even see Floyd connecting, hits Manny on the gloves, some shoulders, pitty pat punches or arm punches, Manny moving away from the punch, a pushed punch ..... a few were just replayed several times because there wasn't enough highlight moments!


Nobody is going to say that Floyd didn't connect at all during the whole fight. Nothing memorable nor damaging, ..... Best one hit Manny on the shoulder. Some rounds he won but many Floyd fans have been saying, how could GGG win rounds based on pitty pat punching.


Manny's defense and counters was very underrated in this fight. Look carefully and you would see that quite a few of Floyd's punches were blocked, partially blocked and countered.

This shows either your bias or that you are misinformed. It does not matter if Castillo was the champ. Being the champion doesn't mean shlt other than you get to keep your belts in the event of a draw. It's time posters stop with this "take the title from the champ" bullshlt when it has never meant that the champ had any advantage other than keeping the belt in the event of a draw.


Also, you said someone made some interesting observations about the fight. That goes both ways. There is a video on youtube, PacRoach style, where a user goes over the fight and finds that the punchstats were way off. Way off. I don't give a **** about punchstats, but I'm just saying.

OP did you not watch the entire 2nd half of the fight? mayweather dominated it.

Here's what they missed. What they think were jabs actually were right hand counters and pull counters - power shots all except two from my count.
