He never seemed to really love the sport, not since he had been inactive for a while anyway. He talked about retirement a few times.

If he doesn't love the sport and there isn't necessarily any more huge paydays out there for him, then there's probably little point in him carrying on. Also he's approaching his mid 30's now and there's quite a few young LHW's coming through that would probably be high risk-low reward, especially if/when Ward's starts declining at his age. No point in carrying on to lose to guys you would have probably beaten at one point. Might as well get out now while he's on top.

Now isn't the time for your whining. Take a day off.

Ward retirement is premature...he's got to whoop some more ass before drawing down the curtains.

Not really fan of his to be honest, as a fighter nor of his personality. But he did have a hell of a career. Cleaned out a very solid division as a supermiddle, then moved up and twice defeated the bogeyman at lightheavy. Hall of famer for sure, and an atg at 168. Wouldnt be surpired if he does come back though, he's still pretty young.

How does he try to talk like Floyd, and how is it an "affirmative action" job?

I actually enjoy his commentary, he's well spoken, respectful, and knows his **** a lot more than kellerman and lampley.
