Canelo has had a career of being in control, except for Mayweather and a couple of fights where the opposition ran more than fought. He got schooled by Mayweather, but that was a win for Canelo in terms of a great learning experience without the cost of Mayweather giving a beat-down.

For the first time Canelo was in there hard, and it might just be he didn't enjoy it very much. He fought out of his skin, but can imagine his view of the sport changing a bit afterwards in realising how brutal it gets. His dedication to the sport will see him back, but what will his state-of-mind be for the rematch where he knows he's going to hell again ? This is the real testing of Canelo.

Similar questions Golovkin. I got the feeling this was the fight he'd always fantasised about, and can't wait to do it again. Just gut feel, he enjoyed it more.

They can both make technical adjustments for the rematch, but I can't see it ending up other than grueling again for both. The decider in the rematch might be more mental than physical.

Kind of reminds me of Ali Frasier again in Manila. At the end of the 14th, Ali told his corner he wanted to quit. His corner ignored him, then a split second later Frasier's corner called it. Does Canelo have the grit to go as far as those two did that night ? Does Golovkin ? Might just end up that type of fight.
I agree to a certain extent. The fight was draining for both of them. However, Canelo has looked better against better boxers. Against Mayweather, he was thoroughly outclassed but he showed some grit especially in the later rounds when he tried to mount an offense. Although, I thought Golovkin won I was more disappointed in him. He is good pressure fighter. He's faced bigger punchers than Canelo. He's faced boxers that can counter up to Canelo's level. The only difference was Canelo had a proven chin so he should have known he wasn't going to go down with one swing. That's why I believed he should have invested in the body. If he got countered to the point where he was starting to lose the fight then he could've adjusted and try landing more shots to the head. The pressure being applied to Canelo was far more than Golovkin. If anyone, the fight should've been more draining for Canelo.

Count me out on the rematch. So many other good middleweights these guys could be fighting any way.

All you are doing is framing the good things Canella did for 30 seconds a fight and ignoring the rest of the round were ggg dominated ggg 8/4

not so much that he couldnt, it was more that he knew Canelo was looking to counter with something big if he got too reckless so he picked his shots more carefully

just saying. people complained about nelo moving around so much.

well, he spent enough time on the ropes for 3g to do his best.

So now he hurt him and staggered him..was this guy watching the fight through Byrd triple bi-focals? I meant at this point collectively the only thing left for the public faces of GBP to say is that Canelo "knocked down triple g but the public blinked and didn't see it and the video camers all shut off for that nano second too"

Can't wait to see more EXCUSES after the rematch!!

Canelo made GGG look old, clumsy and very easy to counter!

I give Golovkin credit, he did his homework on several of those punches of Canelo's!

Some of them he rolled away from at the right moment and was smart enough to take steps back when he knew Canelo was gonna counter with something big!

Thing is this, Canelo can improve on a lot more now that he knows what he's up against!

I see Canelo going to the body a lot more, circling GGG, fighting on the inside more, focusing on stamina in camp more, and making GGG pay often when he throws that right hand in a rematch!

                    Get your popcorn READY!!

Yes, Nelo did get tired in the fight.

The "jab" is exaggerated, he didn't land that much & since when does a jab count more than a POWER PUNCH?

Nelo moved back & forth left to right something lil g cant do.

Nelo stayed on the ropes & gave lil g an invitation, why didn't lil g capitalize on it? Must of been the counters Nelo was landing the whole night.

The general consensus is that lil g was moving forward like a robot.

Everyone moves forward against Floyd, he sets you up that way.
the general consesus is ggg won bud
