Uh Vit got stopped by 37 year old Lewis. Like I said, a W over Ortiz is better than any W either man has, of course that remains to be seen.

This is boxing, of course people are going to say Ortiz was old if Wilder beats him. People would have said Ortiz is old a few years ago when Wilder should have fought him. Fortunately, it's an interesting fight regardless of his age. An old Ortiz will probably still be perceived as the best name on Wilder's resume, and beating him in style will make a strong statement.

“I think you’ll always have some nut jobs out there...."

No, we're just tired of your guy talking like he's God's gift to boxing... then fighting can after can.

If Wilder beats a declining Ortiz then he's still had a good win. But I'm one of those who thinks Ortiz isn't quite yesterday's news, and will shock Wilder for an early rounds KO.

          Fact of the matter is:
          1) Wilder accepted his mandatory shot vs. Bermane Stiverne when everybody questioned whether his chin would be able to stand up against a massive puncher that dented Arreola's chin twice and took his soul.
          2) Wilder not only accepted a fight against Alexander Povetkin, but flew to Povetkin's home country to fight, even though he was the beltholder. Povetkin's repeated drug usage was the only reason that fight got canned.
          3) Wilder has now accepted a fight against the most feared man at heavyweight, if not the entire sport of boxing, Luis Ortiz.

Haters will continue to hate, but Wilder has proven time and time again that he is not only willing to fight the best, but demands it. Win or lose, he has shown no fear.
They also forget the multiple fights he had coming back from an injury which should be completely acceptable.

The same people hating on Ortiz now were the same ones acting like AJ is dodging him.

If Wilder beats Ortiz, it's a better win than any current HW has on his resume right now. And yes I'm including AJ's win over Vladimir.

Ortiz is clearly the #3 HW right now. Anyone whining about the fight now just reveals bias and ******ity. If we've learned anything from the sport lately, it's that there's more parity at the top of these divisions than most would like to admit.

yea..assuming he beats Ortiz...wins over just TWO top 10 HWs in 39 fights doesn't compare to Klit bro.

Or you can look at this way... 31 yrs old - only took up boxing 11 years ago - fighting his second top-3 ranked HW during his reign (Stiverne, Ortiz) ... and two others reached the top 10 after they lost to him (Duhaupas, Molina).

Haymon's most protected? Stop trolling. If he was protected he would be fighting his mandatory (Stiverne) instead of the most feared man in the heavyweight division.
