Canelo is standing on the shoulders of giants like JCC and Morales so gets recognition partially from his Mexican heritage. I'm 100% positive Jacobs would be considered the better fighter if Canelo wasn't Mexican.

In what possible way is Jacobs better than Canelo?

              Jacobs lost, Canelo drew.
Jacobs went down, Canelo did not.
Jacobs is a huge MW, and came in with a significant size advantage.

His fight against GGG, Jacobs did. Canelo lost man. He's Danny Garcia 2.0.

Thing is Jacobs did not win. Without the knock down, 114-114 would've been the appropriate score. And even if Jacobs arguably won, that alone doesn't automatically mean he's better than Canelo. Golovkin had a tough time against Jacobs due to his height/reach/size advantage, and that he hits harder than Canelo. Even though Golovkin took Jacobs power really well, he still had to respect it more than Canelo's. Personally I think Golovkin was too cautious against Jacobs and in a rematch, I'd expect him to be more aggressive.

I couldn't care less if Jacobs is better than Canelo doe.
