Comments Thread For: Canelo-Golovkin Controversial draw shocks fans and gamblers

It was one of the most eagerly awaited fights of 2017, and the Las Vegas gamblers left the casinos and swapped their chips for betting slips, as they headed for the T-Mobile Arena to see how the Golovkin v Alvarez encounter would pan out. After 12 rounds, both the boxers were shaking their heads and the crowd were booing as the judges ruled the bout a draw.

it wasnt controversial and of course golovkin didnt do enough to win as the articles suggest he did. Smart, credible non bias posters such as robbie barrett, bigdunny1,larry x and boogieman have told us all canelo exposed golovkin so thats that.

      Well done.

I'm not even mad about the money I lost. Yeah it ****** but I was actually more disappointed as a boxing fan. The fight delivered excitement a rematch was definitely warranted but they got it wrong at a time really boxing doesn't need more BS.

First the guy who should have won didn't. Then to top it off you get some card that was just atrocious.

I'm pretty ready to move on, it sucks but that's that. I which we could have seen Golovkin in this type of fight when he was in his late 20's to early 30's. I'm not saying he isn't still prime but you just wonder how much better he would be in that time frame against other top fighters. His stamina and work rate were incredible in this fight. He still got tired. What could he have done with 5-8 years of youth on his side?

Robbing the fighters of a win is the norm in boxing.

Its brought a new expression into boxing though - the 'Jacobs jaw drop' (watch the video of his reaction to Byrd's scorecard, I think he almost dislocated it).

The only thing controversial was Byrds scorecard. Had Byrd scored it 115-113 for Canelo, sure we wouldve heard some crying but the draw wouldve been accepted better. Some people on this site act like GGG lost his belts. A draw was fair considering not 1 guy ran away with this fight.

The fight was NOT close--GGG won it going away. Just like the 1st Ward/Golovkin fight. Vegas is home of the shameless fix.
