Alvarez is apparently not fighting again until May 2018 (with it pretty clear that Alvarez is fine fighting someone else).

Even if you assume that the rematch happens in September (I don't), you've got a year of time that K2 is looking to navigate, and there's not a soul on the planet that they're talking about fighting rather than wait for Alvarez.

No talk of Billy Joe Saunders (actually ability be damned, a slickster who fights off of the line who has no problem giving boxing fits), no talk of Jermall Charlo (young, big, strong southpaw who can box), no talk of a Daniel Jacobs rematch (Jacobs fought his ass off, dealt with Golovkin's power, and comes into a rematch without fear), no talk of Derevyanchenko in Kazakhstan (rugged Eastern European style, with some New York refining), etc.

A second Alvarez payday is basically at least a year away, and there are easily a handful of current fighters with the ability to **** that up that K2 seems trying to work around.
Furthermore, nobody is ducking Average Joe Saunders.

Alvarez isn't fighting again until well into 2018, Golovkin and his camp have basically spent the last three years insisting that Golovkin simply needs to be kept active, and he's already under obligation to fight Jermall Charlo or Derevyanchenko as mandatory defenses, with Billy Joe Saunders' WBO belt standing as a tool to delay the mandatory defense.

Golovkin and his camp didn't wait all that long to talk up their next fight when they were chasing Cotto or Alvarez, so it's rich to see things be different now and to see folks like you accept it.

No idea when the next HBO date is coming up, but if October comes around and Golovkin is still church-mouse quiet about who he's looking to fight next, let's hope you have the decency to remember this

Look at b!tch a$$ Cane-L-O and his dejected face and tell me he won. He lost all his mexican fans who booed him in the T-Mobile arena. Non-committal in the rematch. If you thought u won so easy why not immediate rematch? he shook AF.

GGG's power turned Canelo into a scared runner. Who would have thought!

Look at Golovkin, that's not the face of someone that thought he was robbed.

Canelo's skills turned Golovkin in to Margarito. If Canelo had decent stamina wouldn't have been close.
