I'm a GGG fan , don't like Canelo for the gingerweight crap he pulled and waiting until GGG aged a little.
Anyway this was a close fight , GGG won but Canelo counterpunched very well on the back foot and ripped in some hard hooks to the body.
This about 115-113 imo, maybe 116-112 at best
So what if Canelo walked backwards, he landed plenty and with some authority.
Good fight, I just hope GGG will improve a little and catch with him with the right hook when Canelo is doing that duck and spin thing off the ropes

Golovkin hasn't looked quite the same physically that he did 3 years ago, he doesn't look as peak conditioned , I think his power has dropped a little and not just that Canelo and Jacobs are world class opponents.

Kov says "This is a real problem, and there is no solution..." There is a solution. Don't take your azz to Vegas anymore! Guys complain about Vegas, but they want that Vegas money! There are plenty of other options, Barclay's, MSG, Staples, pleanty of venues in TX, etc.

US boxing officials are an ******uous circle and the general bunch will work a fight no matter the venue. Everyone is someone's wife or cousin among the refs and judges. It's akin to a traveling circus.

Fighting overseas would be a solution but other than the UK none of them have the pull/audience to even suggest it.

Hmm, does Kovalev have history with judges in Vegas ? No surprises here.

What has surprised me is that the press row sees the GGG/Canelo fight as much more definitive than Kovalev/Ward. A few on press row scored it for Ward, then I saw the summary over on mmdecisions.com where out of 24 press row, 21 had it for Golovkin and 3 a draw. ie none for Canelo.

I'm sure there must be some for Canelo out there somewhere, and no idea how the 24 were selected out of the hundreds available (why would mmadecisions just pick the Golovkin cards though ? would think it was more random, ie just the ones they could get hold of quickly and easily).

Danny Jacob's reaction was an interesting watch:

the little 'un got introduced to some cuss words if he didn't know them already lol.......

Just got to wonder if it will ever get fixed. Listen to this between Stephen A, and SkipBayliss

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvggfTw1JdQ&t=138s

They both invoke past 'crimes against boxing', eg the mayeather/canelo draw card, whitaker etc, and its such a long list, we've just got to accept the will isn't there to fix it as its not in the interests of those charged with the power to fix it.

There are people out there smarter than us who could come up with a plethora of workable solution where we get the 'right' result every time, not just some of the time.

There has been talk of putting the judges in soundproof booths, MMA even tried it in New Jersey - but point is the judges don't have to be ringside (subject to crown influence, obstructed views etc). And if they can be remote, they don't even have to be at the fight, and if they don't have to be at the fight, why restrict to just 3 where the risk of error is far greater than if you have 5 for example.

Do we have the technology to agggregate multiple scores faster than it currently takes to add up the 3 hand-written scores. Hell yes.

Put the scoring in the hands of known and respected boxing writers/pundits who have to go and defend their cards to their readership the next day. Start with Stephen A., add Atlas, add Doug Fisher, add in Letterman's card, then a bunch of others. We get a winner (majority of cards) and also get to see them battle it out on the airwaves if they disagree with each other - ie no more secretive 'how the hell did Byrd get to that scoreline ?' with no explanation from anyone, ever.

Boxing could do itself a big favour by erasing this biggest area of controversy forever.

And want to know what is even worse than Bryd's card ???? Wait for it........Byrd TRAINS other judges. (I jest not)

Man this dude got his ass beat and tore up to the body. Unless he has nuts by his stomach which is not possible. You got stopped and was ready to go!

And like you lil g will most likely lose the rematch just like you did.

Lost a lot of respect for Kovalev when he quit against Ward, trying to use this fight as a "Vegas" is corrupt thing is just lame.

You lost, Kov. First fight could have gone either way but you lost to body shots the second fight.
