Anyone else thought a draw was the right result?

First of all, I had no live dog in the fight and I didn't care who won. With being said I thought Canelo boxed good for the first 4 rounds of the fight then Golovkin came in and won majority of the middle rounds with good pressure and a solid jab. Then Canelo picked up the pace in the later rounds when his trainer told him too. I thought a 6-6 fight was justified as both guys left rounds on the table.

For the first 4 rounds golovkin fought hesitant. Was not throwing enough punches. I don't know if that was a strategy or what but he fought too timid. Canelo looked like he was saving his stamina towards the later rounds and gave a bulk of the middle rounds to GGG.

With that being said, Harold Lederman was ridiculous with his scoring. There were rounds where it could have gone either way and Lederman just gave it to Golovkin. To me Golovkin was throwing and landing more but Canelo was landing the more eye catching shots ironically being the smaller puncher. All in all, thought it was a close fight. Yes the wide scorecard for Canelo was ridiculous but don't let that overshadow this was a close fight.

Yeah I scored a draw. Don't know what all the fuss is about, people should be able to objectively overlook the terrible scorecard.

I feel too many people are still influenced by commentary even though they won't admit it. I thought Golovkin arguably won his rounds more convincingly and obviously pushed the fight, but again you don't score the event you score Marquess of Queensberry Rules. It doesn't matter if you convincingly win 6 rounds and the other guy barely wins 6 rounds, its the way it goes, a lot of people have a problem with comprehending this.

I agree. I find judging fights while watching them nowadays an annoyance so I don't it very often & didn't for this fight, but my overall sense of how this fight went was Canelo won the first 3 rounds + the last 3 & GGG won the middle 6. I could understand if I was off & its 7-5 one way or another, but all in all it was a close fight & I agree with the decision (just not Byrd's card specifically which seems to be everyone's biggest real problem with this fight & outcome).

        No. Alvarez should've won.

But these GGG boys are the same Kova boys, so let's see them demand the rematch!

I just rewatched and scored the fight. I had it 6-6 with 4 rounds that honestly could have gone either way. This talk of robbery is nonsense.

7-5 GGG or 6-6 is about right for me, don't think Canelo won 7 rounds and it's a stretch to give GGG more then 7-8.

I think GGG won his rounds by bigger margins but the way it's scored you don't get more points for winning a round by 1 punch or 20.

Yes i scored it a Draw, didn't think the fight was hard to score actually.

                  I Gave Canelo Rd's 1, 2, 3, 10, 11 and 12.

                  I gave GGG 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

A couple of those rds could be swapped around for either guy as they were tight.

After 9 Rds i had GGG winning 6-3 and honestly thought he was going to win this comfortably or even score a late stoppage as Canelo seemed to be tiring but Canelo just came on those championship rds and scored the bigger more telling punches so i gave him all 3 even though GGG was probably the more active fighter.

I don't score rds based on Activity or Punch Stats, I score rds based on who landed the more meaningful and accurate punches.

People need to stop focusing on the Byrd Card which i agree was pathetic, the other two Judges called this fight right!

I would have been fine if GGG or Canelo had got this by 7-5 but i think a Draw was the right result.

LOOOOOVED this fight too, had action, great boxing and defence from Canelo and good energy from GGG.

                  REMATCH PLEASE for May 2018.

Harold's scorecard was atrocious and extremely biased. HBO, particularly Lampley and Harold have always held a bias for GGG. Lampley was getting uneasy when Roy kept saying that Canelo was the first guy to actually back GGG up.
