  • Comments Thread For: NSAC's Bennett Defends Byrd Over Canelo-Golovkin Scorecard

THE judge who scored Gennady Golovkin's clash with Saul Canelo' Alvarez in favour of the Mexican will continue to be handed big fights. Adalaide Byrd, the Nevada based judge, scored the fight inexplicably 118-110 in favour of Alvarez. Dave Moretti had it 115-113 in favour of WBA, IBF, IBO and WBC middleweight champion Golovkin while Don Trella had it 114-114 which made it a split draw.

"Unfortunately, Adalaide was a little wide. I'm not making any excuses. I think she's an outstanding judge, and in any business, sometimes you have a bad day." just a little wide? That was more that just a little. You'd have to go completely out of your way to find 10 rounds to give canelo last night. It's like deniro told that kid in the movie casino. Either you're too ****** to know what's going on or you were in on the scam. Either way you're done.......Byrd shouldn't be allowed to judge ever again.

Lame excuse. You can't afford to have an 'off-day' in front of a global audience with millions of dollars at stake. That's what judges are there for, and they get paid to do specifically what is expected of them. Let's hope Bennett never comes under the knife of a surgeon who is having an 'off-day'.
