    Callum Smith and the WBSS

With THAT fight dominating all the attention, what about SMith's first true world level test? I thought he did pretty well to get through to the semis but he looked vulnerable to the straight jab and his feet looked like they were stuck in cement most of the time. Not impressed.

Eubank Jr should beat him if that fight happens.

Yea I agree with you Sigmund gave him some problems but he handled him self. I the Eubanks Jr and groves could beat him though, Smith size would cause problems for both tho

Smith has such a poor jab. Considering his size advantage over all his opponents, he should be developing that jab into a real weapon. The likes of Eubank and Groves will get past that jab easy and **** him up. I'm sure of that.

I thought he probably edged the fight with the knockdown though. I've just never been sold on him. All he has going for him is size and decent power but then it doesn't even look like he can utilise his size that well against a decent opponent.

Not impressed very much with Callum. Granted thats partially cuz its been made into an expectation game cuz so many people have been hyping him so he's decent enough for a world class fighter, but I don't believe he can beat Eubank Jr (by KO or wide decision) or Groves (not a super big Groves guy, but I think he's savvy enough to eek this one out although it could be close if Groves is having a off day &/or Smith is having a good day) & I won't be surprised if he gets upset by the Braehmer vs Brant winner. I'm not sure he woulda beaten Anthony Dirrell & I definitely think David Benavidez would KO him.

Yea it was closer than the scorecards imo, but Smith deserved the W with or without the KD I believe. I think it was close, but idk that it was THAT close where the KD should've won it for him

Was not that impressed TBH and I'm one of the guys that's been quite high on Mundo. I wasn't quite expecting him to steamroll Skoglund as he has many of his domestic level foes, but I was expecting him to control the fight with his length and land the kind of power that got him the KD throughout the fight instead of just once. Skoglund ain't terrible but I think Groves and Eubank would tear him up. I had Mundo as joint favourite with Groves when the tourney was first announced but now I'd probably favour Eubank over him - and maybe Braehmer too (who I always think is underated) if I knew how he'd cope with the lower weightclass.

He's solid, but not the world beater some had made him out to be. Very interested to see how he does against the Brant/Braehmer winner, that should be a competitive fight

Yeah, Skoglund counting maintain his good work in the last 3 rounds when he was starting to take over the fight and Smith got back into it.

It was a fair win, but I will say he's lucky that he wasn't in with a slightly better opponent than Skoglund last night or he was going out of that tournament.

Anyone seen the rbr official scores for this one? I thought some of the scores were weird like there was a lot of even rounds or they didn't count the KD or something going on with a couple of them. Wanted to see what the f#ck those judges were doing, but haven't been able to find the rbr judge mastercard.

Yep,. I never bought into Callum being anything world class. The whole Smith family is basically British level...sometimes.

I dunno if Groves beats him though, simply because that guy has regressed so badly.
