Sturm is a joke until he returns to the States and faces some credible middleweights. It's hard to forgive him for backing out against Taylor even though we get Wright-Taylor instead.
how many sturm fights have u seen

If Sturm wants to try to showoff his skills than he should get his ass back to the USA. Until than he will only be judged on the Oscar fight and be called a ***** for turning down Taylor.Comment

I have seen two, DLH and Masoe. He looked great in both, though I hated his running vs. Masoe (especially when he had little to fear that late in the fight). I think he's very skilled, and I hate that he turned down the Little Rock Taylor fight, even though it paved the way for the huge Taylor-Wright fight.
Sturmrules, I know your stance on the Taylor issue, you say he had absolutely no chance to win a decision in Little Rock. I don't believe that, though obviously the deck would be stacked against him. Don't you think Kohl could have negotiated a European judge and a NY/LV judge in with an AR judge or somesuch?
Not to mention, if Winky wins there is no way he fights Sturm, he'll be looking at an immediate rematch with Taylor, then he'll look for Calzaghe or another huge fight before retiring. Then Sturm will have blown his only chance to win the linear, undisputed title.
If Taylor wins June 17, he may get a shot in the fall, but it may have to be in Little Rock or Memphis (which is about the same). So I'm very intrigued by his skills, but I hate that not only did he pass on Taylor, but also seems to have little urgency to fight Abraham.
I'll say this, he HAS to fight the Abraham-Miranda winner in the fall/winter (after this ridiculous Castillejo fight and if he can't get a fight for the real title), and Sturmrules, I think even you have to agree.
I guess another acceptable route would be challenging someone like Kelly Pavlik on a Boxing After Dark card if he wins his first fight back from the injury...

people rip on him for not taking the fight at little rock, but the thing is, NO ONE ELSE DID EITHER, not solimon not abraham not even winky, winky sent the thing to a purse bid now the fight is somewhere else and i dont blame him that was a smart move, there is no way for a fighter unless by KO would get the nod in little rock vs taylor, i mean hell duane ford gave taylor the belts by scoring round 12 to him in the hopkins fight and that was in vegas
sturm has a future theres no need to jump into a bad situation when he can get a beter deal and odds, germany is known for its bad descions yes but the USA is barely better, i can really only think of 2 cases where the hometown fighter didnt get the nod in a big fight, mosely-dlh2 and baldomir vs judahComment

I only saw his fight with Oscar, which I believe he won.
I came away not really knowing what to make of him. I liked his jab a lot, but didn't like his lack of combos & conviction.
I think he shoulda put it on the fat bastard more than he did, especially after seeing how powder-puffed Oscar's shots were.Comment
