...especially when he had canelo on he ropes. His body punching was almost non-existent, which is uncharacteristic for ggg. It was clear he didn't have too much respect for canelo's punching power, so i don't see why he would neglect it. If he couldn't outright hurt canelo to the body, they'd help set up the head shots.
Anyone else feel like ggg should have gone to the body more?

Yea, i had him winning 8-4...but his pressure wasn't as effective as it could have been. He's always mixed body shots in very well, but he seemed to be head hunting the whole fight.Comment

GGG was weary of Canelo's counters, and was expecting that if he goes to the body, Canelo comes back immediately upstairs, so he goes to the head of Canelo, immediatey blocking Canelo's counters since his hand is already up.
But GGG should have gone to the body in the middle reounmnds.Comment

Ugh, yes. He missed sooo many to head. Couldn't understand why he didn't throw at least more singles downstairs against the ropes.Comment

Not surprised at all, it's not that simple to go to the body when your opponent is quicker than you with the counter. He was getting countered early on, so he knew where is speed was at. Canelo would have taken more rounds of him if he had done that, you could see Canelo was the one landing those right hands to the body.Comment
