You don't have to be a great defensive fighter in order to tame Lemieux. Ask Rubio and Alcine about it. Lemieux is just a bulldozer. Canelo has become more slick than he gets credit for.

However, against Golovkin, I feel like Canelo will hit harder because he won't be afraid to trade with Golovkin like Jacobs was in the early rounds.

Jacobs didn't start sitting on his punches until later in the fight when he realised that GGG could no longer hurt him.

Canelo has more confidence in his chin so I think he will sit on his punches and he will try to break down Golovkin to the body.

However I repeat, Jacobs DEFINITELY has more power in his punches than Canelo. This is not even debatable.
He still garbage so who cares

You may be right but I believe the guy with the higher boxing iq wins and that's canelo imo

I remember before a JCC Sr fight where the commentator said his opponents have to deal with three things: pressure, pressure, then more pressure. Sr did it by always cutting off the ring and never letting up, and Golovkin does the same thing. His opponents consistently say he doesn't actually hit that hard, its just that the punches don't stop, and its a constant flow of punches from all angles until one catches you that you didn't see coming - he doesn't even need to hit flush, the glancing punches do damage too.

Canelo won't get his rest breaks in this one, and he'll be hit harder and more frequently than he's ever been hit before, UNLESS he can land something that, for the first time, gets Golovkin to go backwards and stop his momentum.

Does Canelo have that sort of power ? Haven't seen it yet.

If Canelo pulls this one out I'll be digging into the thesaurus for superlatives and it will all but cement his eventual HOF place (imo).
Well said as usual. If Canelo pulls this off he truly goes down as a legend.

                  And I'll be $1K poorer.
