I just want to make sure that the very vociferous anti-Floyd segment of Loma fans remember how they devalue a win if a guy is being brought up 2 weight classes like Rigo is. I also hope they remember that if a fight didnt happen,"when it should've ", that they don't give credit because the opponent is past prime and declining.

This is a really good fight between two amazing boxers. Loma is bigger, younger, better. He'll break Rigo down to the point where he will be able to toy with him before knocking him out in the late rds.

For Rigo sake I hope it's competitive but Lomachenko is a lot bigger. If it's competitive or something like a cut happens and they go to the scorecards there could be a return bout.

That's the problem with all Cuban fighters in pros, they probably have the best school in amateurs, but they don't have any luck in pro game. Lara, Gamboa and Rigo had HOF potential. Seeing Rigo wasting his best years like that was devastating

True, and what a pity, specially in the case of Rigondeaux, imagine that he fighted Lomachenko in 2013-2014 and had rematches after that one instead of Rigo fighting "nobody" after his fight against Donaire. Now it will be too late, even if Rigo wins i think he will be to old for a fair rematch against Loma.

I agree, my two active favorite fighters, Rigo #1 and Loma #2.

Okay, my prediction. These guys are super intelligent! Dont expect an exciting fight, just a great chess match. The reason is each guy will neutralize some of the other guy's strengths and both guys will have moments of frustration because they are not used to being neutralized. It will be hard to score and will be back and forth, not in a war manner but in each guy changing up to try something different to see if that works better. In the end, I expect a draw or a majority draw or majority decision with fans thinking each guy won. Do not kid yourself, this is not going to be Lom having his way all the time or blowing out Rigo. Rigo did not accomplish all his has with his kind of skills to be an easy fight for any fighter, period!

I think this is how it might have played out a couple of years ago at 124. Dec 9 at 130, and Rigo at 37, my expectation is that Rigo gets hit by things he used to be able to avoid, and misses punches he would have landed in the past, and psychologically folds from the frustration of knowing he used to have the tools, but they aren't there any more. I expect a No Mas.

I'm interested if Loma can make all his usual combination of punches to Rigo and also if he would be making fun of him as he always do (i don't think he can). If he doesn't lose a lot of power and pace by the weight diference and his age for me Rigo has the most dangerous single punch of them, his left hook to the body, Loma is more for combinations and wearing down his opponent.

But well let's see, if both really are 100% focused this one can be one of the best boxing fights ever, as i said in a post previous to the confirmation of this fight for me it's the fight of the XXI century.

True, but for Rigo it's not only weight, it's also his age and lack of good competition in his last years. But well, as Rigo said in his twitter it's no excuse.
Once you take the fight it's no excuse, but it is a circumstance.
