If Crawford wants Thurman than I think he should have him.

That's an excellent fight in the making but Crawford's got to get a couple of tune-up fights under his belt so that he can acclimate to 147 and see if he can handle the new weight class.

Thurman needs a tune up and then Spence probably got dibs.
Crawford should probably target Horn or Spence in the meanwhile.

I like Crawford's attitude. I think he can do OK vs Thurman. Getting the fight is of course another thing, but at least he has the desire to pit himself against the top dogs.

For those people talking about Crawford's size I have a question; How many ATG's have went from LW to WW and beyound and been successful? Skill counts. You are right about Spence, while I see him as a very good WW he needs more seasoning/fights but has potential to be a great. Crawford could take out the guy from downunder in under 3 rounds today.

In order to dominate higher weight you have to have either great defense, great power, solid chin, or tremendous speed. Crawford has none of that. He will be a contender but he won't dominate 147 like 140. Plus who has he beaten to make you think that he dominates these guys. Hell, Berto is better than anyone Crawford has faced

I agree with all you have said but you have to gauge a boxer by what you have to gauge him by. At this point Crawford looks good as does Lomo, AJ, Usyk, Tank Davis, et all. but we shall see. I don't think Crawford dominates but I think he has the skills as far as I have seen to this point to make an impact. Who would have thought that Ray Leonard would be dominant as he was or Duran from LW to WW but they had skills, same with Floyd. Having been in and around the sport for 50 years I look for potential. I have been wrong before and will be again but TC is one of the best potentials that I see.

Duran beat Leonard which is true but he lost to Wilfred, Hearns, and Hagler. Duran was not the same fighter from 147 to 160 like he was from 130 to 140. Same goes for Oscar, Tito, Pac...etc A great fighter will always be a great fighter but once you fight a bigger guy, things change.

Only if the bigger guy is the better or more skilled guy. What the hell is a "true Welterweight" or any weight today. The GOAT SRR started out as a LW when LW meant 135 day of fight, 147 day of fight, 160 day of fight; was he always the bigger man? Today LW's weigh 150+ day of fight. It's has and always will be the size of the fight in the dog not the size of he dog.

Crawford beats Thurman but no one under 160 touches Spence.
