You guys really get upset when former champions like George Foreman and Carl Froch say something critical of Golovkin, don't you?
Critical is fine. Delusional is not. Blatantly denying the reality is not. All more surprising when it comes from somebody who should know better. You don't get to have such amateur career as GGG had just if you a punching brute. His boxing skills are excellent, but his power is so overwhelming that it unfairly overshadows his boxing skills. I'll keep this opinion even if he loses to Canelo.
Foreman: "Golovkin, that's all he knows. Land those good hard body shots and to the head. He doesn't seem to know anything else."
... sure: no stiff jab... no legs cutting the ring... no ring IQ...
I believe Goerge is saying that Golovkin is no head hunter, but even his jab is a power punch of sort. He seems to probe for hard shots as opposed to setting up shots for the 6th in the 3rd if you will.
It's got him to this point and it may get him a win tomorrow.
I mean people are giving their opinions. Okay maybe some cats are fanboying, but fanboying happens with both guys in these sorta big PPV fight usually so that bs cancels itself out & generally I'd suggest people just ignore those cats cuz they aren't reasonable mfers 9 times outta 10.
The legit boxing fans have opinions & probably even favorites sometimes in a fight like this, but its not like they are usually against the guy they aren't picking as pro-the other guy & whoever is winning/wins they will give that guy their props during + after the fight. Its not about props for most of us. Its a fight & honestly both guys could deserve props after the fight regardless who wins. This sh^t ain't about that simple sorta sh^t to most cats here I don't believe. Most just wanna see a good fight, but they tend to be the quiet majority.
I agree, I don't get personally involved with favorites in a bout but even if I do have a favorite it doesn't cloud my boxing objectivity. This is one of those fights where I like both fighters and their respective skill sets, I was 50/50 on the bout until 2 days ago. Freddie Roach and Evander seperatley made comments about Canelo bulking too much unnecessarily. Holyfield, someone who knows about bulking up said that after 6-8 rounds Canelo's shoulder will be burning and have the feel of someone standing on them; hand speed and snap gone. If he does tire and goes to the ropes it will be over, so with that in mind I am picking GGG by TK/O in 8-10 rounds but either way it goes it should be a good bout and I will be happy with the results as long as it is cleanly refereed and judged if it goes the distance.

Reynoso stated yesterday that Canelo will only put on a few pounds after the weighin
he wants to stay light and retain his speed
fair point..... but Canelo is VERY experienced, and he has a GREAT team..... the weight should not be a problem
the Chavez fight gave them an indicator as to how Canelo would handle the weight

Agree, I don't see weight being an issue but the concern is unlike against Chavez Jr. he wasn't carrying around extra weight in muscle bulk and the statement made by Holyfield was a little more detailed about the lactic acid build-up in those new muscles causing the burn and heaviness of his arms/shoulders. Caneo and his team are experienced, he went back to training a few weeks after Chavez Jr. to bulk-up and cut down for GGG and they would have never closed camp early if they were concerned about weight. Again, my concern is with potential fatigue, without that one concern I'd be back at a 50/50 pick'em fight.

Yeah I want to see a good fight because I'm paying 80 bucks but I will give Canelo his props if he wins the fight convincingly I haven't written the man off I just feel Golovkin has the better shot to win the fight
