if he ever did weigh 170+ atleast 5 pounds was food and water in his gut.
I'd be surprised if Canelo is heavier than 168-169. He wants to be firm and fresh, but also loose and fast. So he's not coming in 175 or anything like that. GGG will likely have a 1-2 pound advantage.

I've got Canelo by UD in a similar manner when he fought JCC. No GGG is not Chavez, but Canelo has similar quickness to Brook with similar power to Jacobs.

People keep whining Canelo couldn't stop Cotto or JCC, but that has nothing to do with power. Those guys went into survival mode so it's easy to see why the fights went the distance. Cotto literally ran at times like he was facing a plastered 2008 Margarito. And JCC turtles up and redeemed some pride just by "surviving"

Almost as dumb as Jacobs claiming he was only 174 on fight night. Seeing as they both came in at 160 pounds, and Canelo is the younger fighter with a lower bodyfat %, it's pretty apparent Canela will outweigh GGG by an not insignificant margin on fight night.

That extra bulk will certainly be usefull for absorbing punches, but I can't imagine Alvarez's already slow feet will benefit from the extra weight.
