i think experience does matter, but i don't think it will in this fight because ggg already had the exprience of going 12 rounds against a pretty good boxer in jacobs,,so just like canelo has experience facing boxers like lara, trout and mayweather, golovkin does too, although just recently,,,fights like that help a lot, thats why when oscar valdez went 12 agains marriaga i said that was good experience for a young champion, knowing you can't always win easily and it's good to know you can go 12 hard rounds,i really don't think the experience issue will matter in this fight, maybe if ggg hadn't gone 12 close rounds with jacobs yeah, but he did and he knows how to deal with that now

This isn't exactly a comprehensive article...and I'm sure the interview wasn't comprehensive either.

Canelo has experience, but not experience of fighting middleweights with middleweight chins and real middleweight power. I think he's going to have trouble absorbing Golovkins power, the type of power that he has no experience of at all.

When I seen gggs fake amatuer record of 350-5 I knew it had to be keith idec writing it,I challenge any gggroupie to PROVE gggs amatuer record in any way shape or form other than bs hearsay,he had at least 8 losses & amatuer record from a country with very few good boxers means very lil in pros.

Canelo had a 42-2 amatuer record before age 15 in Mexico known for tons of great fighters & being boxing crazed. Canelo has 353 rds as a pro to gggs 172 rds & canelos almost decade younger basically. Consider the fact gggs only gone 12 rds once, canelo 9x & canelos amatuer record combined with pro record means hes still fought almost as many rds in his lifetime as ggg. And ggg was fighting worse than bums til age 24 didn't win gold despite having multiple tries in Olympics while normally fighters go pro & get 1 chance at gold.

Who has ggg ever fought that wasn't a bum or already kod by bums? Most his wins are tkos because the fighters hes facing are enormous underdogs/weak chins &/or had been kod/kd/lost by weak punchers. Only wade/brook were undefeated.Lemeixe, rosado, kod by bums, rubio kod by 3 bums,Jacobs kod by pirog& kd by a featherfist.Cotto kod martinez the proven lineal mw better than gggs resume, cotto kod geale in same rd as ggg,ggg has yet to face a single full mw champion only lemme was vacant undefended"champ".

Funny how in last 10 fights ggg has 2 kos 6 tkos 1 guy quit on stool,& 1 ud,the only kos were hopeless house arrest hobo wade & 3x kod rubio who was destroyed in prime by chavez jr. Its easy for ggg fans to say if ggg fought so & so then such & such...woulda shoulda coulda, but didn't because he stayed ducking the best unwilling to risk to be great. Canelo has a good chance of koing him as speed kills & hes faced better skilled than ggg just not as powerful.

Gggs a very good fighter who has the world fooled hes already proven his rep, hell be exposed by canelo & won't be surprised if hes stopped.

                    Don't forget Canelo's 44-2 amateur record.

Its easy to belittle Golovkin's record, and maybe it boils down to 2 good wins, Jacobs 2017 and Lemieux 2015. Note both are regarded as being in their prime when Golovkin fought them - a key factor.

Canelo has some ATG names on his resume, but if you look closely, you start to see the cracks. If you look for people who could be described as being in their prime when he fought them, and ignoring lower level opposition like Liam Smith (just like we have ignored all of Golovkin's lower level opposition), your left with Mayweather, Lara and Trout. One of which he lost, while the other two were close-run affairs.

The 'names' that he's fought have all been well past their prime: Cotto, Kirkland, Angulo, Mosley.

So Canelo needs to be careful in comparing past opposition as its really just Mayweather/Lara/Trout vs Jacobs/Lemoo. And if you factor in how they both did against that opposition, and the fact that all of Canelo's top opposition was 3 or more years ago, while Golovkin's top opposition has been in the last two years, then the picture starts to morph into something where its easy to arrive at questions about where Canelo has really been over the last couple of years.

And lest we forget, while we anticipate Canelo having the power to trouble Golovkin, Canelo failed to stop all of JCC, Cotto, Lara, Mayweather, Trout.

                    Just to remind ourselves:

                    2017
                    - JCC junior. Really just a stay warm/try out new weight fight against a very flawed opponent.

                    2016
                    - Liam Smith and Khan. Neither top level opponents.

                    2015
                    - Cotto: Cotto (imo) peaked around 2009, was decent v Mayweather in 2012, but after that came off the boil. Beating a crippled Martinez got him to the Canelo fight, where among other things he was just too small. They couldn't really fight when Cotto was at his peak as it was too early in Canelo's development.
                    - Kirkland: Inactive for 18 months, minus Wolfe, just not what he was.

                    2014
                    - Lara. A SD, many argue Lara won. I thought Canelo edged it, but it was indeed close. Canelo had a lot of difficulty with the movement, not being able to cut the ring off and Lara's speed. Maybe a good learning fight as it taught Canelo many areas where he needed to up his game.
                    - Angulo: Angulo badly faded at this point and painfully slow, no more than a sparring session for Canelo

                    2013
                    - Mayweather: Outclassed
                    - Trout: This was Canelo's best outing imo as Trout had just beaten a Cotto who still had something left. Sure it was close, most had Canelo winning it by 1 or 2 points, but Canelo came of age in this fight and started showing some real class.

                    2012
                    - Josesito Lopez and a badly declined Mosley
